I concluded some time ago just what you advocate.
I paddle my kayak at least a mile twice a week from April to October and swim 300 meters twice a week from October to April.
I would guess that many many my age find it easier to ignore many things that would improve their health and perhaps make themselves feel better.
The proactive wellness programs attempt to reduce costs by improving overall health. Many here are critical because it seems big brotherish and perhaps it is, but it might just work.
Wise people choose to live healthy.
Slaves and cattle are directed, coerced and forced to live as someone else chooses.
It is not for the State to control our diet and medical treatments. If you believe otherwise you are welcome to move to a place ruled by a totalitarian regime.
Doubtful.
Many are critical because it seems stupid. I am either going to take care of my health or I will not. Having my doc harp at me is only going to keep me from going to that doctor because being harped at is not one of my preferred pastimes.
Because my husband is a vet with a SRC the VA told him that he must have a VA PCP. This guy is a fanatic about cholesterol. Despite the fact that my husband has good numbers, lower then when he was on active service, the good doctor would spend 3 quarters of the visit haranguing about his numbers and how he just "had to get them down".
As we walk out the door we toss the "guidelines" in the trash.
Not going to follow advise that came close to crippling him once upon a time.
