Liberals everywhere were outraged this week after Rush Limbaugh said a black man playing James Bond would be “ridiculous.” The comments were made on Tuesday in regard to leaked Sony emails that revealed that CEO Amy Paschal wanted the black actor Idris Elba to play James Bond. Rush, however, wasn’t having any of it. “James Bond is a total concept put together by Ian Fleming. He was white and Scottish. Period. That is who James Bond is, was,” the conservative radio show host said. “But now [they are] suggesting that the next James Bond should be Idris Elba, a black Briton, rather than a white from Scotland.” “That’s not who James Bond is and I know it’s racist to probably point this out,” he added. Liberals everywhere are outraged by these “racist” remarks, but what do you think about it? Sound off in the comments below!

Ever wondered why you are being told points and you are alone ?
It’s because you are missing the point.

Scotland back then was mostly white, hardly a black there.
Bond was created to be a white man.
Why on earth would you want to change that with the left?

In that case I’m going to be outraged and throw a temper tantrum the next time I see James Bond use a cell phone.

The point being (which you are obviously missing), if you are modernizing the time period the man exists in, then its acceptable to modernize the man himself.

A Bond movie set in the 60’s with a black James Bond would not have worked, and would have been totally non-plausible.

However, I wonder if there has been a very successful movie where a traditional white character has been played by a black person?

In this instance, it makes no difference to me. I outgrew Bond some decades ago.

I wonder why it is so hard to celebrate what makes us unique? I wouldn't watch a Tyler Perry movie if Medea was white. Her blackness is part of the story.

A “fictional” character is the intellectual property of the writer/author, and unless the copyright/franchise is sold, it should remain as created.

Rush’s point is, nothing is as good as the original. .

I would have no problem with Morgan freeman playing Q. he would be playing a ancillary character and he is a great actor. as far as I am concerned he is not a person that would make a mockery of the part of Q
