No Longer a Republican
Townhall ^ | Dec 22, 2014 | Matt Barber

I am no longer a Republican. John Boehner, Mitch McConnell and their Democrat-lite, RINO Republican establishment have seen to that. They have betrayed their own constituents. They have actively turned against the American people – the very voters who granted them power to do good.

Even before the gavel has sounded on the Republican-led 114th Congress, these treacherous cowards shamelessly, eagerly, it seems, squandered perhaps the one opportunity they had to stop, in his tracks, America’s first cultural Marxist, anti-American, palpably evil president.

Eventually a true opposition party will spring up. If we survive.

An opposition party will NOT just spring up. We’ve gotta make it happen. May I refer you to Post #79? It will only take 30 seconds or less to read it.

If conservatives don’t have enough votes to reform the GOP, how can they be strong enough to win elections on their own?

You’ve got to start somewhere. Sitting around bitching is accomplishing nothing. PLEASE read my Post #79. Thanks.

You advocate the same old status quo: Bitch, bitch, bitch but never have the balls to rise up and revolt. The RINOs have the money and the networking. These last elections (excluding the Cantor/Brat race) proved.... we can’t beat them at the ballot box. We get crapped on by Thad Cochran and Haley Barbour and let it go because we’re used to wiping RINO s**t off our faces.

The folks in Canada bolted for a third party when the “Progressive Conservative Party” as it used to be called dumped a national sales tax on them in the late 1980’s.

From 1993 on for a decade plus the Liberal Party ruled unchallenged but Canada survived some hard times including an attempt to institute a national gun registry.

Eventually a new “Conservative Party of Canada” was formed from the old guard and the third party group. This new party now rules with PM Stephen Harper.

In the UK folks have bolted the Conservative Party to form UKIP and they’ve moved onto greater strength than the third party in Canada achieved because they’ve used immigration and cheap labor to reach Labour Party voters.

In the last special election for a parliament seat UKIP won with 2/3 of the Conservative voters and 40 percent of the Labour voters.

There is great potential for grassroots common sense sane leadership (NO KOOKS OR RACISTS) to build a new party in this country.

I agree. However if you refuse to vote straight GOP be prepared to be accused of loving Obama and being cousins with Stalin, and wanting to shred the constitution, and hating America, and being a Hillary supporter, and a welfare cheat, of not paying taxes and, generally not being worth the space you’re standing in.

The British equivalents of those accusations have been leveled at UKIP and as Nigel Farage repeatedly points out “a vote for UKIP is a vote for UKIP”.

"If they win"

The left has already won. The GOP has been co-opted. There is nothing left to do but abandon the stinking and rotting carcass that is the GOP. We can build another party, better and stronger, one that reflects and represents Conservative values. The sooner we get started, the sooner we can right the wrongs and set a corrected course for America.

Don't be afraid.

Time to form the Liberty Party! Our British Cousins have pointed the way with UKIP. Liberty must become the second party—just as the old Republicans pushed out the Whigs. What we have now are Socialist heavy and socialist light (RINOS). If only a few on the right would bolt the party and join the new Liberty Party—it might work. Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, Trump, etc... I can dream.

I’m staying as a Republican, so I can FIGHT the RINOs, instead of letting them win. If they win, it will because of us CONSERVATIVES leaving and liberals will win. What we need to to go and join the local party and fight from within.

Same here. We need to drain the swamp of all the Dims and as many RINOs as we can. Once the Dims are down, we can concentrate on weeding out the remaining RINOs. Long-term process.

Thanks Nextrush. I hope you don’t mind, but, I’d like to re-post your comment(s) for everyone to read. You just substantiated what I’ve been saying. In this High Tech Age, especially, new political party can arise and be successful quickly. I think most Americans are sick and tired of both major parties right now. Here are his comments folks. RINO trolls, read ‘em and weep:

ROFLMAO! Conservatives have, supposedly, been trying to do that since George H. W. Bush was elected in 1988. It hasn't worked too well for us, in almost 3 decades, has it? Come on guys, either wake up from what you're dreaming or lay down the crack pipe; which ever applies, because right now, you are not in "reality".

It's a GOP-E con game. Don't buy it. The rules vote is everything, while the chamber vote is simply kabuki theater.

Understand This

I’m sure. But, tell me how Cong. Lamar Smith, TX —or any other representative— voted on Rules for H. Res. 776 (113th Congress)?

Part of the reason is that so many would rather "ROFLMAO" than do what they can to get rid of the really hard-core Dims if it means replacing them with a RINO. Instead of getting someone who might vote to the Right 60% of the time, we pave the way for someone who will vote to the Left 100% of the time and tell ourselves there is no difference.

if folks really think there is no difference, why do they whine so? Hell, why do they bother hanging out on FR?
