That’s terrible. I’ve done Craig’s List transactions several times. My sister does them all of the time. Usually it is perfectly fine. There is risk in anything.

One time while sitting in a McDonald’s a pack of robbers came in — fortunately they only robbed the restaurant, not customers. But to avoid that sort of thing one would have to never eat out.

Be safe, yes. But these people thought they were being safe.

It’s been about ten years, but a man from SC selling a car was kidnapped and taken to TN and killed, from a Craigslist AD.

Yes, usually okay, but always take someone with you or be in a public place with people around, when showing a vehicle or whatever. I would not let anyone come to my home from Craigslist.

I have family who get good deals from Craigslist, and have sold things on Craigslist, but they do have someone with them every time.

Craigslist is known to attract criminals and scams of every sort . They experience an unusually high level of crime related to sales/services offered at the site, and put up CYA warnings. There are no safeguards built in, so it’s up to the honest buyer/seller to be very careful.

I imagine that is why when I am in some areas they have bulletproof glass in the fast food joints between you and the cashier. They got robbed and shot at in there.
