POS had already done some time for being a felon caught with a gun. Obviously didn’t serve long enough. Court mandated costs pushing up price of incarceration is part of the problem, and not just direct costs. There needs to be some pushback against those judges.

As former LEO I can tell you that’s complete BS. I can take an undercover minority officer into just about bad neighborhood and he can find a throwaway gun for the right price within the hour; for the right price of course.
