On December 20 the NAACP Legal Fund issued a press release saying the execution of NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos show “the need for sensible gun control.”
According to the release, we need also “need to thoughtfully address untreated mental illness.”
One thing the NAACP Legal Fund’s release said we don’t need to do is to “suggest a causal link between between these killings and the recent protests and activism focused on the serious issue of police violence against unarmed African Americans.” They suggest that pushing such a “causal link” may escalate “an already tense state through rumor and conjecture.”

They said she was taking prescription meds..well, if she was taking these meds, and she knew the side effects, why the hell was she driving..people have to be responsible for their OWN actions..we live in a society where people are told over and over again that they are the victims, that they are not responsible for anything that they do wrong, and this kind of insanity is the outcome

The murderer was a felon multiple times and his possessing the gun was illegal. I am also assuming that he was carrying concealed illegally too.

I thought Maryland had extraordinary gun control laws. There could not be anyone in Maryland or coming out of Maryland with an illegal hand gun. Same for New York. It seems this is impossible that these two policemen in New York could have been shot. Yet they were. How do the liberals explain that?
If it was a private sale, then there’s no background check. Are you saying that you think there should be checks on private sales as well? Considering Margo Bronstein and the huge numbers of people whom are killed in car accidents annually, maybe there should be no more private sales of cars between individuals without expensive and intrusive Federal background checks.

Major city police and sheriffs have advised homeowners to arm themselves to protect same and families. That the police just cannot physically respond in time to prevent or stop danger. Black people have equal right to protect the selves as anybody else NAACP should be encouraging it’s members to acquire firearms and get home defense training. If naacp cared about its members, that is .
