Our city is hurting, we are hurting. Today we mourn the loss of two NYPD officers who were gunned down in a vicious act of senseless violence.
As soon as news broke of the tragedy in Brooklyn, I spoke with both the families of Eric Garner and Michael Brown. And let me be perfectly clear, we are all outraged and saddened by the deaths of these police officers. Any use of the names of Eric Garner and Michael Brown, in connection with any violence or killing of police, is reprehensible and against the pursuit of justice in both cases.
At every rally and every march, we have stressed nonviolence and peaceful protests.
I delivered the eulogy at Michael Brown’s funeral and Eric Garner’s funeral and denounced anyone engaging in violence. We have even been criticized at National Action Network, NAN, for not allowing certain rhetoric/chants calling for violence, and we would abruptly denounce it at all of our gatherings. Violence never has and never will have a place in the true fight for equality and justice.

Are those the two officers that were killed? If not - they could be. I am guessing that “race relations” are probably pretty good on a team of cops, fire fighters, soldiers, etc.
Although looking at the photo it looks like the one guy wants to run down on break and grab some smelly Asian fish thing - and the other guy is thinking “Oh - man - it’ll stink up the car for a week.”

May their biggest worries now be what to have first in their eternal feast.

That street sign reminded me that the Thompkins name sounded familiar.
Web search found the Thompkins Park Riots (1988) that is what I was thinking about. (Don’t know if this street is anywhere near the park). It had seen labor riots at the turn of the century as well. Here’s an odd/ironic/prophetic comment on the web. Note the same-old attitude of victimization remains the same:

Sharpton should also be fired from MSNBC....it was noted they gave very little attention to this shooting...probably trying to figure out how they’re going to spin this...
Now these officers have been killed it’s going to be all about calming the masses yet again...
Social media has many in the black community and commies supporting them...grumbling and complaining just as suspected would follow this...
Obama too has to figure out how he’s going to spin this....

“Those that incited violence on the street under the guise of protest, that tried to tear down what New York City police officers did every day,” ....Lynch told a news conference. “That blood on the hands ‘starts on the steps of City Hall in the office of the mayor.”
The truth about this poser will come out and I believe it will be ugly.
