American troops just had their first real battle with Islamic State militants, after the terror group attempted to overrun Ein al-Asad base in Iraq in the middle of the night Sunday, the Kurdish news outlet Shafaq News reports. The U.S. troops absolutely decimated the militants, forcing a quick retreat. The counterattack was conducted in a joint operation with local tribal forces.
The attack occurred at Ein al-Asad base, which currently hosts nearly 100 U.S. military advisers. The U.S. troops engaged the militants in tandem with F-18 fighter jets, who provided air support. The battle lasted approximately two hours after an undisclosed number of militants were killed.

Posting GuidelinesDon't jump threads - If you get involved in an argument in one thread, it's considered poor manners to restart the previous argument in the middle of an unrelated thread.
It sounds like you have a problem from another thread. Were you incapable of arguing it articulately there?
happy Eid Fitr Mohmadfokah
You’re right. Stated well.
Ganging up I see.
I think the question to the op was legitimate.
He posts this as of it is a bad thing.
That’s weird.
For Godsake, let him enjoy his vacation!
Probably the most dramatic reading on the Vietnam war, is the Army Special Forces fighting for survival at their tiny little SF bases with a handful of green berets and their indigenous troops, where they were always in danger of being overrun, and constantly being harassed and attacked.
Exactly my reaction!
“He posts this as of it is a bad thing”
The “Bad Thing” is that we have to learn of this from foreign sources, instead of our own media, or from our own government.
WHY is this being downplayed so much?
IMO, because it doesn’t fit the approved narrative.
Ganging up? He put ‘all’ in the ‘to’ line. Isn’t that an invitation for all to reply. His post was off topic and clearly an attack on tcrlaf. I wouldn’t expect you to be able to understand any of the logic in that though.
I'm not a mind reader so I'll leave that kind of neurotica to you guys.
They have so much more worthwhile work to do making allah safe from ridicule or abandonment by assaulting children and candy stores.
Hence the question, so we can get to know what is in his mind. But we can ask you a question too:
Is this news a bad thing or not? Seems it should be happy, regardless of how we look at Iraq in totality. Extending it further to that totality, should the United States entirely leave Iraq and do nothing about ISIS in its territory?
So is Obolo setting these guys up for an Alamo scenario, when ISIS comes back with 5,000 wanting their 72 virgins?
You are the one who seems to be ganging up.
The op tone was that US troops kicking ISIS ass was a bad thing.
If he didn’t mean it that way, fine.
I saw no cause to think tcrlaf posted this thread for any reason other than to inform FR. His first post appeared to be a knock on 0bama and on the American media and nothing else.
You have a serious screw loose
The op tone was that US troops kicking ISIS ass was a bad thing.
Based on what? His knock on 0bama? His knock on the American media dropping the ball?
He'll get mad about it a week from now when he hears about it on the American "news"...
