Lt. Col. Allen West, reacting to Jeb Bushs announcement on Tuesday that hes seriously considering a 2016 presidential bid, used strong words to describe the politics of the former Republican Florida governor.
Appearing on FOX News with Sean Hannity, West, referring to Bush running against Democrat frontrunner Hillary Clinton, said that match is the last thing the country needs, labeling Jeb Bush a big government progressive.
When you look at by the time we get to 2016, were going to have a country with $20 trillion in debt; were going to have a massive, bureaucratic, administrative, regulatory state, and the last thing we need to see is a big government, progressive Republican running against a bigger government progressive socialist Democrat.
The former Florida congressman contends that in order for Republicans to win in the 2016 presidential race, the party needs to clearly delineate their vision and that of the Democrat Party.
In his famous 1975 CPAC speech, Ronald Reagan also encouraged the GOP to offer bold differences, saying, Our people look for a cause to believe in. Is it a third party we need, or is it a new and revitalized second party, raising a banner of no pale pastels, but bold colors which make it unmistakably clear where we stand on all of the issues troubling the people.
West asserted that the biggest problems for a Jeb Bush presidential candidacy are going to be his unacceptable positions on amnesty and Common Core.

Jeb isn’t fooling anyone.
Good descripion...............also a traitor to the USA, but who’s counting.
...labeling Jeb Bush a big government progressive.
Whoa! Does he kiss his mother with that mouth?
I thought he called him a ****sucker.
But this works just as well.
Cruz/West 2016!
I can’t figure Jeb out. He would get decimated worse than George McGovern. I really think he is just out there boosting Amnesty.
Allen West for PRESIDENT, or at least vice-president.
BOOM! Nailed it.
Jeb Bush was a very competent Florida governor, and, in different times, might even have made a good president. But he, like his brother and father, is too weak in dealing with the left and is constantly “reaching across the aisle.” He doesn’t necessarily agree with them, but he’s so courteous and worried about hurting their feelings that he’s useless.
Incidentally, the person who killed his bill to protect Terri Schiavo was another Republican, Jim King, a radical good ol’ boy RINO who was speaker of the Florida State House at that time. But Bush has forgiven, and doesn’t even oppose RINOs (which he is not, just a weak conservative).
big government progressive.
That accurately describes jeb and the rinos that are upset by him being called that. It also accurately describes democrats.
Secretary of Defense would be my favorite post for Col. West. Or head to the Justice Department.
Here's all you need to know -
Allen West is right, the established GOP be damned.
Sort of...these guys didn’t occur in a vacuum. The electorate sent them to DC. I really don’t see anything changing until the electorate comes to its senses.
Excellent. Those pics need to be posted on EVERY JEB! thread....especially that second pic ;-)
I cant figure Jeb out. He would get decimated worse than George McGovern. It's not about the general election. It's about controlling the Republican nomination process.
The Establishment slipped up twice in the modern era and let two genuine conservatives capture the nomination. They're determined not to let it happen again.
They'd rather lose to a Democrat than win with a conservative.
Col West speaks FReeper, fluently!! Love Col West!!
