The incident occurred in Victoria, Texas, a suburb of Houston. A dash camera captured officer Nathaniel Robinson tasering 76-year-old Pete Vasquez.
Vasquez was driving a vehicle owned by the car dealership where he works. Officer Robinson pulled him over when he noticed the vehicles inspection sticker had expired. When Vasquez exited the car and attempted to show Robinson the dealer plateswhich wouldve exempted the necessity for up to date inspection tagsthats when the altercation happened.
I dont know what his deal is, Vasquez told an officer that arrived on the scene later. Vasquez went on, he came over here and got nasty with me and Im not going to put up with it, I dont care who it is. Then he grabbed me and threw me on the pavement there and I almost knocked my head on that damn poll and then he start [sic] Tasing.

If by that you mean he should be fired and banned from jobs in law enforcement, I agree.
So which football team will be the first to run out on the field holding.up inspection slips?
A couple days ago the Roberts Court upheld a stop and search based on an incorrect reading of the law.
Yup. Cops are just brainwashed tax-collectors with guns.
“He feared for his authority”.
Yeah, right, Cartman....
Consent was granted, State law protected the cop for the initial stop, and the appeal process “fixed” the brake light charge. The coke charge stood. Chalk this up to one idiotic citizen oblivious to her Fourth Amendment protections.
On point, yes this was definitely excessive force, but when stopped a person needs to be aware of the cop’s prerogative/unpredictability. Cops kind of get nervous when occupants in a vehicle decide to take charge of the situation rather than staying in the vehicle patiently waiting for instructions from the cop.
Suburb of Houston? It’s closer to Corpus Christi than it is to Houston.
Dude ... this one loose cannon cop is not indicative of the entire state or its government.
The problem, it seems to me, comes at 1:15 in the video, where the officer grabs Vasquez’ arm. There was NO need to do that at that time, and there is nothing in the officer’s actions prior to that point to indicate he thinks Vasquez is anything but a harmless old man.
The reaction to pull away is normal human instinct - don’t police academies train common sense any more? Give the situation a chance to de-escalate.
It used to be a nice, rural area and is now overrun by arrogant, entitled mexicans.
76-year-old man Tasered by cop over an Inspection sticker
Inflammatory BS headline.
Say what you will about the issues of the story. But the headline is a lie.
If you believe that, then you’ll believe Michal Brown was killed for jaywalking and Eric Garner was “choked to death” for selling loosies.
Mrs. henkster’s sister lives in Port Lavaca, her husband works at the Alcoa plant. Our nephew lives in Victoria. We go down there about once a year.
Dude?
You’re using ‘60’s hippie speak?
I’d guess it’s time for you reboot and update.
You have no clue here, and I do not need you to tell me anything about punitive corrupt controlling government and those supporting it. Obviously you’re still living in old America from the distant past.
I know exactly who I am dealing with...Trust me here.
These are the exact same type of people who would have sided with the British red shirts...No mistake on this.
You said a mouthful.
I've been saying that is exactly why Obozo gets away with his EO's and is seldom challenged.
Seldom are people IMMEDIATELY affected by what he does. Later on down the road when it has a direct effect on THEIR life. It's at that point you will hear them crow.
There's NO doubt Obumbler has strengthened Government's hold on the people... and NOT for the better.
So I’m to take the word of a Kalifornia resident attempting to school me in Texas government? Sorry, bud not buying your BS. I’ve live in Texas all my life. Your cop/Texas hatred is all you’re showing.
Victoria, TX (suburban Houston :-;) alert
BTW this particular cop was WAY out of line. But again, he does not represent the entire state of Texas. And he will lose his job.
Yeah, not a good idea.
