In his first interview since he announced Tuesday that he was actively exploring the possibility of running for president, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said he thought he could persuade the Republican base to support his position on immigration. Bush has advocated for Republicans to soften their tone on immigration, and has repeatedly called on Congress to address the issue with comprehensive legislation. A candidate gets to persuade, Bush said to Miamis NBC 6. I think theres a compelling case that if we want to be young and dynamic again, we have to make legal immigration easier than illegal immigration, that we control our borders, enforce the laws. But that we embrace our immigrant heritage and allow our country to take off. You gotta do both.

Me Ted Cruz is my choice...
Until then Jeb can just keep that culture OUT OF MY COUNTRY. If Jeb wants to pay for tickets for Americans who want to live in Cuba or Mexico or South American - it's fine with me.
But don't bring that culture here.
Yes, we welcome LEGAL immigrants who want to BE Americans but NO we do NOT want to be overrun by a Hispanic culture. We like our American culture just fine.
So yeah Jeb - buy tickets for people who want to live with Hispanic culture... send them South of the Border... I don't think Jeb will get any takers... No one's trying to 'break into' Mexico or Cuba or any other the other thug cultures...
I think illegal is illegal...and should always mean what it says.
If Jeb thinks that then he is dumber than he looks.
#22 Hillary can wear the medal Jeb gave her at their campaign stops.
The base is now the GOPe, RINOS, people that don't pay attention....might even think they are Conservative but vote for RINO's and GOPe candidates.
I'm done with voting for the GOP, just because I'm a Republican.
“But that we embrace our immigrant heritage and allow our country to take off. You gotta do both.
You see, in Jeb Bush’s world, the Europeans who built this country can no longer compete. It will take a group of people who have never built anything but squalor and tribalism; yes, that is the ticket to lead us into more freedom and prosperity. I used to have a tape of a La Raza firebrand; he was saying the same thing—”out breed the tire old European wombs, send them all back to Europe, this is our country, etc.”
Well, maybe we can raise it. Not now, with this unemployment rate of course.
However, the fact that they won’t secure the border and enforce existing laws unless we give them this concession shows us that they are not negotiating in good faith. They just want to hold the country hostage until they get what they want.
Wow. Jeb Bush is insane.
Hey - aside from running for President as a Republican, can anyone name a single adopted Party issue, policy analysis, or speech that either Romney or Jeb have proposed, or written, or campaigned on that is “new” and exciting in the past 8 years?
I mean, without any decent ideas or thoughts, what exactly do they argue that they have to offer us?
The Booshies SUCK. They’ve done enough damage to the US. FU Jebbie.
A Carolina Hurricanes fan...ugh...I hate the Hurricanes and I detest Peter Karmanos the Hurricanes owner. He stole my beloved Whalers...
I’ve said this here before: it’s not enough to sit out the election if the GOPe foists Jeb on us.
It’ll be time to double down and make your vote count twice (once by withholding, once by opposing):
If the libs in the GOP push Jeb to the nomination, I’ll vote for Hiliary. If the GOPe is bent on getting us past that awkward phase, sooner is better than later.
I wish I could persuade him to get [back] behind his rock; and stay there.
Wow! That’s pretty dumb.
We are at 320 million now, we are full NO VACANCY.
That or dumber than a box of inbred, eyes-too-close-together, rocks. Two days ago he said he didn't need the base to win. Yesterday he asked Loser McStain how to win without the base. Today he says he can persuade the base to stop being Conservative and vote for the liberal, indicating that he now needs the base. Someone must have showed him the math.
We need a 40 year reprieve like between 1920 to 1965. We can't assimilate what we got now.
I don’t see how Jeb can possibly win the nomination. He is too wimpy - no match for Putin; he appears to want to turn us into another Mexico; voters do not want a dynasty, not another Bush; etc. Then again, I did not think that McCain could have won the nomination - the one person sure to lose to Obama.
“Is Jeb wanting MORE ownership of our invasion by South American Socialist squatters?”
100% Y E S
Maybe. I’m not committed either way. I only know that’s a conversation we shouldn’t even begin to think about until we close the border, deport the illegals, and start enforcing existing laws.
