By most accounts, he was an incredibly arrogant ####, among other unflattering adjectives.
When his former classmates at Princeton and Harvard were interviewed, certain words kept repeating. One was a nice thing -- that he's very smart. The others, not so much...

By the way - Dershowitz on WCGO 1590 in Chicago last week said he was “Brilliant” and “Not to be Underestimated.”

I just can’t imagine someone who pursues a career in politics being described as “arrogant” by his classmates...
so atypical, eh?

Many smart people are jerks when they’re young. Some mellow, some don’t, e.g., Gruber.

Oh come on--my guess is 99.9% of anyone Ivy League is arrogant and smug.
Crap, I meet them 30 years after graduation and having done nothing seemingly that impressive and they are STILL smug having gone Ivy League.

I was not arguing that he was not actually physically there to some extent, rather that he was not really “there”.
Its no secret that these Ivy League schools have a much more relaxed situation for affirmative action grantees.

I saw Cruz interviewed on Brett Baier last night, and he handled all the questions flawlessly, with grace, intelligence, and humor, including some questions which pertained to his reputation among fellow legislators as well as recent criticisms from George Will and Charles Krauthammer.
The public - except the Far Left - will like this guy and will admire his candor and his lack of waffling. He is NOT an extremist, but a man of principle and common sense. It says a lot about Washington these days that those two qualities turn everyone in Washington against you.
To: justlittleoleme
At least Cruz had classmates. No one seems to have known of Obama at his schools. Odd isn’t it?

Your scenarios, as absurd as they are, are probably pretty close to what the media will actually come up with. Remember how they went after Palin’s emails two or three years AFTER she was the VP candidate and when she wasn’t even running for anything?
To: Vigilanteman
I do know someone who knew him at Harvard.

"where he graduated with a bachelors degree in Computer Science and a 4.0 grade point average."
Probably equivalent to a 3.2 in my day.
To: justlittleoleme
Ironic how no one remembered Obama yet they can remember a lot about Ted Cruz. This is ridiculous.
To: Vigilanteman
I can say the same thing about my high school class (recognize most of the names and faces 45 years later), but I hardly knew anyone in college. But I DO remember most of the people who shared my major.
To: jdub
Please share the details, if you dare. I remember reading something once about someone who worked with him on the Harvard Law Review, but details were scanty.

Same here. You won’t remember the thousands of people who went to the same college, but you will remember the few hundred (or less) with whom you took pretty much the same classes.

I am glad you found him so warm and engaging.
I have a pic of him and me taken in march 2011 as he is just starting out.
As we took the picture I told him I’d hold up his Ted Cruz For US Senate campaign sign so people would know who he was. I didn’t mean it the way it sounded but he loved it and laughed.
I actually don’t want him to run for POTUS. He can get more done in the Senate.

not much. the guy is a liberal who I am no longer facebook friends with. We grew up together though, but weren’t friends really. Just before the last election he made a comment that he sat next to him in a class, and that he was very smart.
