Ted Cruz privately apologized to GOP senators Tuesday for interrupting their holiday schedules by his surprise tactics that effectively brought the Senate into session over the weekend.
According to five senators who attended Tuesdays caucus lunch, Cruz offered the apology in unsolicited remarks, saying that he regretted if any of his colleagues schedules were ruined by his maneuvering. He didnt say whether he would do something similar again, senators said.
And unlike a contentious lunch last year after GOP senators pointedly blamed Cruz for prompting the government shutdown, no sharp words were directed at the Texas freshman at Tuesdays lunch, according to the attendees. Republicans do not expect Cruz to prevent the Senate from finishing its work promptly this week.
The comments cap a tumultuous several days for Cruz, who, along with his counterpart, Utah Sen. Mike Lee, suddenly scuttled a bipartisan deal Friday that would have prevented weekend votes in the Senate. After Lee objected to the agreement, Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) brought the Senate back into session Saturday and began to advance nearly two dozen of President Barack Obamas stalled nominees.

Its a back handed apology at best.
I can handle an adult saying to other adults.....”Sorry but we have a serious matter here that needs to be dealt with” and I interpret the story as being Ted Cruz speaking honestly and sincerely to his colleagues in the Senate.
We need more adults who are sober and honest like Cruz and who care about other people’s inconvenience as well as other principles.
“Its a back handed apology at best.”

And it’s not even that at all. It’s akin to the manager of a nuclear reactor calling in an essential operator to stop a critical stoppage of cooling water and saying “I regret you missing your television programs tonight, but it was essential that you be here to prevent a meltdown”. The impending meltdown is analogous to Obama’s illegal alien “executive action” -— it was critical to try to stop.
The reactor operator would of course recognize the importance of his coming in; the whining Ruling Elite Senators and their supporters in the same position would say “screw it, let it melt down, I’ll still get paid”.
That advice would have torpedoed my marriage a long time ago. And try as I might to not repeat the offence...whatever it was.
I’d have to hear Ted apologize to believe it. “Sorry that your weekend was spoiled!” is not a real apology. lol
“Why should he apologize?”
I would have to hear it to understand the meaning. From the article it says he apologized for interrupting their schedules but apparently did not apologize for what he did.
Yes. Sometimes an ‘apology’ is used to drive home a bigger point while being gracious.
Hahahaha! He offered the dem apology line, “I’m sorry if anyone was offended, BUT...”
We have decided we will vote for him. No matter which Moderate Republican is foisted on us, we will write in Sen. Cruz. We are sick of the losers the GOP has chosen the past decade.
RE: Why should he apologize?
It says in the article: for interrupting their holiday schedules
___
But, notably, NOT for forcing them to vote on the unconstitutionality of the executive amnesty.

You what I noticed about this article? No in named RINO Senators taking shots at Cruz.
Must be they don’t like the feedback they’ve been getting from the voters. Good, let the bastards soak in their own dishonor.
This also explains why the sudden pointed attacks against Cruz by Salon etc. Me thinks the RINO establishment has hired the lame stream media to do their bidding. Right out of the Willard Camp m.o.
Just Announced by Bret Bair: he will interview Cruz on Fox News this hour.
Micheal Medved hates and despises Cruz..I stopped listening to him.

Nothing like Politico’s characterization.
“To my colleagues I apologize to forcing you to do your job.”
Did Ted Cruz take “Apology lessons” from John Sheridan from Babylon 5?

[ Micheal Medved hates and despises Cruz..I stopped listening to him. ]
We should Freep Medved’s show, tell the call screener that we are conservatives who are “angry at cruz” then when we get on the air tell Medved that we are angry that Ted has the Gall to actually do the job the people sent him to washing to do!
They said he was contrite.
