So that's why I can't remember seeing any good movies over the past 5 or 10 years.
Ruh-Roh!
Warning Labels like on tobacco products is next.
This post just ruined my day!
Theres nothing like freshly popped popcorn, especially when popped in one of those hand-cracked* poppers with coconut oil.
*cranked?
Agree....100%.....with a little sea salt added, it’s the ONLY way to make popcorn.
AGain?
This is old news
Something smells very shi...er...Obama-y about this article.
And it’s not the butter smell.
Science is for grownups, and just the wording on this article points the wrong way...for instance: “...some researchers...” Oh, well, some “scientists” claim UFOs exists, too. Lawyers tend to choose folks who are naive enough to vote for dim-bulb-crats.
And the fact that a court case awarded folks dollars on a claim regarding “popcorn lung” probably had a jury with not one (if that many) folks possessing any kind of background in chemistry, medicine, or statistics.
Of course, the claims could be true, but methinks one would need a bit more evidence.
If someone eats two bags of microwave popcorn every day I have a hard time having sympathy for them when they come down with something due to the popcorn. It really isn’t a matter of dangerous chemicals, the issue that microwave popcorn isn’t exactly healthy.
The MSDS on diacetyl. Definitely not good to be around.

US Dept of Labor: OSHA
HAZARD COMMUNICATION GUIDANCE FOR DIACETYL AND FOOD FLAVORINGS CONTAINING DIACETYL

Does this mean that if an OSHA rep shows up at my place of work and smells microwave popcorn popping the business can get into trouble?
popcorn is banned from my house , I HATE the smell of the stuff
(...now where did I put my keys???)
Butter flavored microwave popcorn is about as appetizing as fresh dog poop.
Popcorn with REAL butter on it is a gift from God.
But remember that this same exact compound is what occurs naturally in butter! It tastes like butter because it IS the taste of butter. And it occurs naturally in cream and some alcoholic beverages and many other things, that gives them a smooth, buttery feel and flavor.
Some of the hysterical negative articles on diacetyl remind me of the "Ban Di-Hydrogen Monoxide" hoax.
Just sayin'.... be aware.
