Olympics now banned from any country restricting spread of homosexuality

A decision Thursday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will apply new restrictive anti-family pressure on nations wanting to host the Olympic Games. On December 8, the IOC unanimously approved a wide-ranging package of 40 recommendations, the Olympic Agenda 2020, that includes a rewording of its anti-discrimination Principle 6 clause to include a reference to "sexual orientation" as a protected category.

Hosting the games, or ‘belonging to the Olympic movement’ as its styled by the IOC, “requires compliance with the Olympic Charter and recognition by the IOC." Thus, countries hoping to host Olympic Games in the future, such as the two contenders for the 2022 Winter Games -- Almaty, Kazakhstan and Beijing, China -- would not be able to implement laws restricting homosexual proselytizing such as those enacted by Russia, or other measures aimed at limiting the spread of the harmful sexual behaviour.

The Principle 6 clause of the Olympic Charter will be amended to state that "any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement."

During the Winter Games held in Sochi, the Russian law banning homosexual propaganda aimed at children became a rallying point for homosexual activists bent on disrupting the Games.

However, prior to the commencement of the Games, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that while homosexuality itself is not a crime in Russia and homosexual people were welcome to attend the Sochi Olympics and could "feel safe and free" during the Winter Games, he warned them to “leave children in peace.”

"We don't outlaw anything and don't nab anyone. Our law prescribes no responsibility for these kinds of relationships unlike laws in some other countries do,” he said. “The games will be held in complete compliance with the Olympic Charter, without any discrimination on the basis of any characteristic," Putin added.

The IOC seemed at the time to be satisfied with this assurance, stating that, "The Games themselves should be open to all, free of discrimination, and that applies to spectators, officials, media and of course athletes. We would oppose in the strongest terms any move that would jeopardize this principle."

"To that end, the IOC has received assurances from the highest level of government in Russia that the legislation will not affect those attending or taking part in the Games," the IOC said.

At a press conference following the approval of the Olympic Agenda 2020, IOC President Thomas Bach touched on the contentious homosexuality issue without actually naming it.

"Some of the recommendations were not easy for certain members to swallow," Bach said. "Some may have hoped for no recommendation or a different recommendation on a specific issue."

"So it was encouraging that regardless of their individual interests or positions, they were determined to make Olympic Agenda 2020 a success. Speaking of the members, I have a great deal of respect for them to do this,” Bach concluded.

I lost interest in the summer Olympics about 20 years ago. The winter Olympics retain some interest, but even that is fading.

I attended the 76 games in Montreal. I wouldn’t rate them as great. There was an African nation boycott over New Zealand playing a non olympic sport with South Africa and a controversy over Taiwan calling themselves the Republic of China. It was also the first summer games with a very heavy security presence since it followed the 72 massacre of Israeli athletes. There were some great athletic performances with Nadia and Bruce Jenner and others but I found the overall atmosphere there that year dismal. The hosts became the first ever to not win a gold medal. East Germany won a ridiculous number of medals which are all discredited now but stand because the IOC decided it was too messy to strip so many, years after the event. There was plenty of Olympic spirit sucked out of the games that year.

Agenda 21...”Olympic Agenda 2020”? “At this point, what difference does it make”? -Hillary 2016

The dates keep moving, the ideals are aligned.

"Why don’t we just make homosexuality an Olympic event and be done with it?"

Pole vaulting will now be pole smoking. Figure skating will remain as is.

It won’t be long before the perverts kick their demands up a notch. Soon they will want grade schools and high schools to make an actual homosexual experience mandatory.

It was mandatory in the Weather Underground ("Bill Ayers:Smash monogamy!" "Smash the Patriarchy!") and Jonestown (Jim Jones "serviced" the doc who made the poisoned kool-aid).

You may be onto something there, additionally they split the summer and winter olympics into two different schedules for ratings/$$$.

How can you miss it when it never goes away?

Let’s push for the summer Olympics to be held in Saudi Arabia. That ought to be good for munching on some popcorn.

The Olympics are having so much trouble finding countries to host it that I doubt they’ll let this stand in the way of one who is willing to write the check. I can easily see the Olympics going the way of the World’s Fair sometime in my lifetime.

Who cares?

Sports is mostly a way of turning peoples’ attention from the real problems caused by evil rulers.

The irony with the winter Olympics is that much of the world (including nearly all of the US) truly only cares about a handful of sports: men's hockey, figure skating (which is really no different from the World Figure Skating Championship held every year), downhill skiing and snowboarding.

The other HUGE problem with the Olympics these days is internet spoilers when time differences come into play. Thirty years ago you could watch an event recorded twelve hours before, but unless you had access to an AP newswire or something similar you had no way of knowing the outcome. Today, you go to check your email and the headlines are already up. It's not a lot of fun to watch an event when you already know the outcome, especially when the team/person you wanted to win doesn't.

Agree, but now hearing about how the homostapo is trying to force their perversion on other countries is even more disgusting.

Remember the days when these homosexuals said it was their private business and all they want is to be left alone in their bedroom. Now they are moving to places to file lawsuits, suing people who does not agree with them, and now this crap.

This was bozo and his lefty pals around the world trying to tell Russia to accept homosexuals and they got told to piss off big time.

Russia telling the Homosexuals Olympics to get lost would doom them. Russia has been the biggest supporter., but since the fall of the USSR, they probably could care less what Zimbabwe thinks of them.

It is really a wonder that you aren’t under attack from local neocon crowd who would call you a ‘putinista troll’ so far.
