A hostage has been forced to hold up an Islamic State flag in the window of a shop in Martin Place that is currently under siege.
It is believed there are 12 hostages in the store and an ISIS flag has been placed in the window.
Martin Place is the main financial area of the Sydney CBD.

I am following you as the NEWS in USA has very little on this, and must be due to what you said about evacuation. Al Jazeera America in NCY now has a feed on the street, but not a lot of info.

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: Australian authorities are dealing with an “incident” at Sydney’s Opera House, police said Monday, without elaborating on whether it was related to an ongoing siege at a nearby cafe.
“The police are responding to an incident at the Opera House,” a New South Wales police spokeswoman told AFP.
Reports said the Opera House had been evacuated.
