NOTRE DAME - After hundreds of protests broke out across the country over the case of Eric Garner, the Notre Dame women's basketball team joined in the effort.
At Saturday's game against Michigan the team wore shirts that read "I Can't Breathe". The phrase comes from the last thing Garner said before he died.
According to our partners at the South Bend Tribune:
A Notre Dame spokesperson said the decision to wear the shirts was driven by the players, but that the coaches and administration supported the move.
“I can’t breathe, but I can dribble.”
Crap, I told the GF to quit posting her pics on line....
When I saw only the headline I thought why didn’t the coach put a stop to this. Then in the story it says she supported it. Disgusting.
And Clay Matthews got FINED $10,000 for wearing WHITE shoes.
Support the team, wear “Free the Puppies!” T-shirts.

I hope the alumni weigh in on this madness. . .. but just like a poster mentioned. . .it’s not the same Notre Dame of yesteryear. I went to a school program last night and it just struck me how the faces of many parents/grandparents exuded hopelessness.
If only.
In a real and healthy society:(1) the current members of the team would not even be attending the college in question;(2) if admitted after achieving the same grades in academic subjects and achieving a good score on the admission test the conduct in question would result in immediate expulsion for they attend college for training not for “protest.” Frankly, I’m getting sick of “protests” by people who do not even belong to our society and who cannot even govern themselves.
Since ND hosts a regional campus of the Indiana University School of Medicine, team members, coaches and administration should go there to be checked out. In addition to a check of their lungs, perhaps a mental health checkup may be in order.
A shower and some deodorant will help.
