OTTAWA, Dec 12 (Reuters) – The Royal Canadian Navy on Friday imposed an almost total ban on sailors drinking at sea, after a warship had to be recalled from an international exercise because inebriated crew members got into trouble.

Sailors had hitherto been allowed to drink off duty. Now, they will only be able to sample alcohol on special occasions such as Christmas, if the captain gives permission.

I just checked the 2013 numbers and Texas seems to produce about 16,000 or a little more enlistments, every year.

That is one quarter of Canada’s entire military, I wonder how many Texans are on active duty today compared to Canada’s 68,000 total military?

“Terrible end to a tradition - but the fact that a ship had to be recalled for such a reason is very disturbing.”

It was recalled for IN-PORT problems. Nothing about this addresses in-port drinking.

Texans likely have more active serving members than Canada does as a nation.

If it wasn’t for Canada’s reserve forces ( militia) she would not have any effective military.

Where have I said anything, anywhere about your lack of support?

Interesting that you go to men’s penises though.

You don’t like learning the facts about Canada and the lack of warrior blood in the nation, and learning that your military has to draw from such a tiny pool of brave patriots?

What kind of unit did/do you serve in, and how do you explain that you get so few of your countrymen wanting to join you?

because Canadian’s get sick and tired of listening to yankee doodle blowhards like you popping off about our military...we have never started a war or lost a war. lncluding kicking your asses back across the 49th. We have a large territory and a small population and my unit as a young reservist had 5500 casualties and 1500 kia in ww2. We don’t swagger around talking and acting tough but we finish what we start and generally mind our own business.

So you lied about me? That is how a Canadian military veteran like you tries to conceal his nation’s lack of warriors?

Are you still in? How do you explain that you get so few of your countrymen wanting to join you?

If you avoided serving in the military like your fellow Canadians, then at least tell me that you have supported some pro military Canadian group with your membership?
