I say yes considering any pet's behavior is due to the human who trained/not trained it.....
I don't think any dog, cat, hampster, gerbil, mouse, etc., is inherently evil and should be excluded from heaven.......
If they have souls then there must be some that are going to Hell as well ... mahap those that pestered me no end (until I caused theirs) will be there instead. Just say’n
“Bacteria and viruses dont have much biblical support for having souls.”
Well they are God’s creatures, so is the Pope just pulling this out of his ass?
If there are animals in heaven, I think they would be animals which God made just for heaven. I doubt they are animals from earth, as I don’t think animals have a soul.
I could be wrong, but I think a soul is what makes humans differ from the animals. God breathed life into man. Animals were created for man to have dominion over. At least that’s how I’ve always seen it.
He said it about dogs. That doesn’t equate to a papal dispensation for cats, let alone disease germs :-).
Actually, following the creation account, certain animals are referred to with the same term, nephesh, that refers to human souls elsewhere in the bible. These tend to be the more intelligent animals, the ones that have a degree of what we would call anthropomorphism.
I’m one of those horrible Protestants, I don’t require the pope to tell me dogs have souls.
Animals are not capable of righteousness or sin in the sense that man is. They cannot accept or refuse agape love. So “bad dogs” don’t go to hell.
The creation account is pretty much what we have to go on from the bible. And it does use the same word for animal souls as is used for human souls. That doesn’t give them totally equivalent capacities, but it bespeaks some common feature.
No, it is the spirit function which determines Hell. Dogs (any Earthly animals or plants) have a soul but not a spirit. It is reserved unto Man and Angels to inhabit Hell. The soul without a spirit wedge is innocent of spiritual violations.
Then how accursed humans are, that they are destined to Hell from birth short of the selective grace of God, while all other living things enjoy Heaven by default.
I would love to investigate this further. Can you quote Bible verses for this? Not trying to argue, just trying to understand the concept. Thanks.
I miss Benedict...
And JPII
My cats vehemently disagree with the exception of my son’s retired Belgian Malinois K-9.
You never heard God saying “the whole world is going to the cats” when things went wrong.
As I told Moses, ‘you’re barking up the wrong tree” when he wanted to go Right into Canaan (and nothing but sand), instead of going Left into the Lower Sinai where the oil was.
Only those who are full of love. Not those who are full of bull.
If you are questioning whether we are body, soul, and spirit, you need only consult Paul’s letter to Timotheus, his salutation at the end.
The love or hate that animals show is largely driven by their environment. They don’t have the capability of choosing agape love deliberately to overcome the power of hate.
Love is love!
Ask your Lord, in prayer, to define "love."
I have all my life...and that includes His love for His animals.
The spirit is the temporal andsentient part of man, able to decide and create.
Dogs are not sentient and haven’t the ability to make decisions, much know they are dogs.
Man can conceive and behold God as The Holy Spirit and accept him as their Lord and Savior as Children of One Almighty God, The Creator of us all and creations.
