The US House passed a continuing resolution before the midnight deadline. But the Senate did not take it up. Therefore by failing to pass their own resolution, THE SENATE DEMOCRATS SHUTDOWN THE US GOVERNMENT.

ebt SNAP is administered by the states - the US Government just releases more money to the states for Food Stamps through the USDA. If the ebt would go down it generally falters in varying states NY, and MI have had the most problems with the ebt system going down
Based on the last drama; ‘Shutting down the Government’ has no meaning whatsoever. Only Federally (taxpayer) funded public parks and military memorials were targeted - just to ‘teach us a lesson’.
How many Federal employees went unpaid?

My take is that the dems are trying to pass themselves off as the Official Party Of Fiscal Responsibility. One of the new masks being custom fitted for the 2016 election. While the GOP folk are boozing it up and shrugging off the voters who ‘brung ‘em to the dance’, the DNC gnomes are hard at work, calculating.
