WILL GUN POLICY BE SET BY THIS ANTI-GUN CONGRESS?
On guns, there will be both pro-gun and anti-gun provisions which will be carried forward from previous years.
But if we could just delay writing the bill till January when Republicans will control both the House and the Senate there is so much more we could do:
◦We could push to eliminate the Schumer amendment, which prohibits non-violent Americans who have made mistakes from EVER getting their gun rights back.
◦We could stop the ATF from creating regional gun registries by copying 4473s during routine annual inspections.
◦We could put the kibosh on the anti-gun aspects of ObamaCare, including the entering of gun-related information in the federally run health database.
Instead, we are faced with a Boehner-Pelosi December surprise which effectively gives Obama a pass with respect to all of his illegal actions on guns and immigration.
And what about last Thursdays House vote, where Republicans declared, in effect, that they were very, very angry that Obama had stripped them of their powers? MSNBCs Sam Stein put it pretty well when he said this was just a Boehner trick to allow hapless Republicans to show their rage without undermining everything we have to do.
One more thing and that is the precedent this may create for Boehners actions during the 114th Congress which is coming up: According to Politicos Glenn Thrush, there is an open question as to whether a Boehner-Pelosi deal to crush Republicans could cause Boehner to acknowledge reality and actually start passing bigger, more important pieces of legislation [like an anti-gun amnesty] using this across-the-aisle Nancy Pelosi thing .

This Boehner is a POS, plain and simple. Going against my religious beliefs, I wish him ill.
Bingo! At what point do we give up on the GOP? What does it take? I believe the next 6 months will determine the future of the GOP. Will they get on board to reduce the size and scope of the Federal Government or not? If not, there will be a new party.
Republicans Completely Cave As President Obama Wins Big In Government Funding Deal

President Obama notched another big victory as Republicans put off their attempts to stop his immigration order and agreed to fund all of the federal government except Homeland Security through September 2015.
we have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it ...
"John, I got big plans for you next year. Thanks for being my pal."
"We are certainly pleased by that, White House spokesman Josh Earnest said."
On December 3 2014, The Daily Callers White House correspondent, Neil Munro, reported that he had heard that House Speaker John Boehner will ask Rep. Nancy Pelosi to help him overcome snowballing GOP opposition to the GOP leaderships draft 2015 government budget bill which would fund the entire government for 2015 and makes merely token efforts to stop President Obamas agencies from implementing his unpopular amnesty, according to rank-and-file GOP legislators.

I don’t disagree but the Dems will likely dominate elections for a few cycles until the new party can get its act together.
In that case may as well make sure to elect the most radical Dems so these RINO Crony Capitalist-types can fully reap what they’ve sown.
This is a very good point.
The Democrats have become a fighting party because their “base” forms a strong majority of their voters.
What people here refer to as the GOP “base” is no more than 30%, maybe not even 25%, of Republican voters. This “base” can lose elections, but they can’t win elections.
I’m done with the moderates if right out of the gate pass a CR of 1.1 trillion dollars that fully funds Obozocare and funds until Feb/March Obozo’s illegal action on immigration.
Just yesterday hearing Speaker Boehner’s tone of absolute disdain for conservative Tea Party republicans flipped a light switch in me. That guy can kiss my rear end.
I am a constitutional conservative and I will not lay aside my principals any longer. Moderate republicans, if you want my support, fix your damn candidates. YOU lay aside YOUR principals for a change, we have for two and a half decades since Ronald Reagan. Done!
If it crashes, then the moderates allowed it to happen. So be it. We will rebuild from there.
We don’t intend to turn the Republican Party over to the traitors in the battle just ended. We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support. Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates wouldnt make any sense at all.” — President Ronald Reagan
The bacon-wrapped shrimp club, known as Congress, ain’t for you and me, no more.
I’m convinced the only way now is a third party. The monied interests who fund both political parties have zero interest in the founding fathers’ concept of individual liberty or the plight of the middle class. The fact Republicans are using political capital fighting for derivatives trading on Wall Street, in the current omnibus spending bill, instead of defunding Obamacare and amnesty is telling. The GOPe is purely and simply a pawn of Wall Street and not a party representing citizens.
When individuals of good conservative character go to Washington it seems they are coopted within one or two election cycles. Few are independently wealthy so eventually even those of the highest character bow to the realities of the campaign funding process. Others fall more quickly due to extortion or bribes. Essentially the Republican power structure is a corrupt criminal organization. When you join a criminal organization, it is impossible to remain uncorrupted.
The Article V convention may be one answer but there is a risk of it being hijacked and reform the system in a way that facilitates permanent one party rule by the left. Another option would be for a group of elected conservatives to split from the Republican Party and form a Freedom Party. If Cruz, Lee, Palin, Gingrich, and a few more prominent elected and free agent Republicans would form a third party, pulling with them 10% or more of Republican elected officials at all levels, it would set the stage for coalition government. To preserve power, the GOPe would be forced to negotiate power sharing with conservatives or face being in the minority. Under this scenario, as the conservative party increased its membership through the electoral process its power in the coalition would increase until it became dominant.
Should the GOPe not come to terms, the new conservative party can go to work building national support in the same way Nigel Farage and the UK Independence Party is doing the UK. The Republican Party will eventually go the way of the Whigs.
When the Reform Party popped up in Canada, it was an open door for a decade plus dominance of national politics by the Liberal Party.
Jean Chretien was very obnoxious but above all his administration was corrupt with tax money routed to Liberal Party supporters.
They tried a ‘gun registry’ but it fell apart with promises about its cost being low being constantly revised upwards until it became impractical for a country whose expenses are weighted down by government spending on health care....
But eventually the old “Progressive Conservative Party” that among other things imposed a national sales tax in the 1980’s to break the camels back with grassroots Canadians was finally replaced by a new “Conservative Party of Canada” and its leader, current PM Stephen Harper.
BY THE WAY WATCH ANY GOP-E TALK ABOUT ‘TAX REFORM’ IN THIS COUNTRY INCLUDING ANY THAT MENTIONS THE USE OF A SALES TAX. THEY ARE ONLY INTERESTED IN BAND AIDING BIG GOVERNMENT AT THIS POINT, NOT REVERSING IT.
