Irans President Hassan Rouhani said Wednesday that the sharp fall in global oil prices is the result of treachery, in an apparent reference to regional rival Saudi Arabia, which opposed production cuts.
Oil prices have plunged by more than 40 percent since June to around $65 a barrel, placing severe strain on Irans economy, which is already hobbled by international sanctions imposed over its nuclear program. An OPEC meeting last month failed to reach agreement on production curbs, mainly because of Saudi opposition.
Rouhani told a Cabinet meeting Wednesday that the fall in prices is at least partly politically motivated, the result of a conspiracy against the interests of the region, the Muslim people and the Muslim world....
How do they like that Obama rationing...
Watch us give foreign aid to Brazile because they cannot sell us oil at high price
Hopefully none of them decide "If I'm going down anyway, I might as well take a bunch of the people I hate with me!"
In short, they're a lot like leftists, no?

“They all drove Trans Ams where I went college!”
It was Corvettes at USF. Most of the cars were wrecked a few weeks into ownership, rolled in single car accidents. I asked one about it. He’d never been anything beyond a passenger and that in busses only. He was given an international driver’s license and the money to buy a car. He had no concept of inertia. He had to move closer to campus so he could walk after that.
Oh, he had never worn shoes and never lived in a house without a dirt floor. He got his job by beating up all the other contenders, he bossed an oil rig crew. He’d received 30 lashes as a boy for talking to a girl. He showed us the appalling scars. He was grateful to the father who had the right to kill him. He said, “Is no gay people in Iran. But you can’t talk to a girl, so you go to the city and find a boy with smooth legs. Their handlers clip their balls off so they stay smooth and attractive.” This was in 1979. So, they were still making eunuchs then.
Right now the West Wing is trying desperately to come up with something that
gives Obama credit for falling prices but his public anti-oil stance prevents that
from happening.
“In short, they’re a lot like leftists, no? “
I’d say Leftists are more like Iranians but on serious medication. Leftists make sense about ordinary things, mostly. Iranians never make sense. I’m astonished they can build missiles and ships. The ones I met were utterly incompetent. They thought if you didn’t cheat you were an idiot.
Wow.
The pain for OPEC oil producers is set to get worse.

... on Wednesday, OPEC cut its forecast for 2015 world demand growth by 6%. It blamed slowing consumption in western Europe, Asia and Latin America....
What makes matters worse for countries such as Iran and Venezuela is that OPEC expects its members will continue losing market share to the U.S.
It expects demand for OPEC crude oil to fall by 400,000 barrels per day in 2015.
“This downward revision reflects the upward adjustment of non-OPEC supply as well as the downward revision in global demand,” it said....
Just how much more pain OPEC can take is unclear. Iran warned Tuesday that prices could fall to $40 a barrel if the cartel wasn’t more disciplined.
“Any break in OPEC solidarity or price war will lead to an enormous price dive shock,” Mohammad Sadegh Memarian, head of petroleum market analysis at the Oil Ministry...
Michener’s novel about the Middle East, can’t remember the name, talked about the Arabs being notoriously un-trustworthy because they lie so freely. In WWII they couldn’t be counted on as Alies, even the sources. Perhaps what you say about their use of language helps explain.
Are they brainwashed?
Glenn Reynolds of Instapundit posted a couple of days ago that fracking is saving western civilization. I had never thought of it in those terms, but it is starting to make sense. The people who do frack are despised by the communist left because they work very hard, cling to their religion and guns.
Let’s hope the oil/gas players can do more to stop the world wide tyrants and further strengthen our country and thier position. If it weren’t for US companies developing other countries they wouldn’t have squat.
My view as well. I mean, obviously, there are exceptions---lots of creeps and scoundrels in the oil patch too.
But you have my thanks for the post.
Are they brainwashed?
In a sense we are all brainwashed by our culture. The Koran tells them they can lie. The Koran is specific that they should lie to further Islam. But they generalize that they can lie all the time and that furthers Islam. An Iranian who was up before the dean for the third time for cheating wailed, What is the big fucking deal!? The State Department got involved and the college was told to stop catching Iranians cheating.
I had taking a group under my wing and was tutoring them. Basically, they copied my homework with no intention to gain understanding. I missed the last class before the final and the professor told us exactly what would be on the test so we could prepare an equation sheet. They told me that the test would cover XY and Z, but not AB and C. It was exactly the opposite. When I asked later why theyd done that one of them poked me in the chest and said, You look bad. We look better. I never again even associated with Iranians.
When the vast majority of the arab culture is raised to believe the ends justify the means, the result is what you are reading about.
I seriously doubt the demand for oil is decreasing worldwide, and I certainly wouldn’t use socialist Europe as a yardstick for world consumption.
Brother. My college students in Accounting say the Chinese students, with a few exception, cheat for grades in the Business College. They seem to have no problem. Better grades are all that matters.
The total growth is near stopping while the US production is climbing ~100,000 barrels per day per month.
In 1979, the high school my dad works at had 3 or 4 Iranian exchange students. When the hostages were taken, these guys showed solidarity by shaving their heads....and they were constantly leaving campus without permission and getting into trouble with police in the nearby town.
I was 9 years old - but I already recognized the flawed, evil worldview of muzzies.
