Texas Senator Ted Cruz is reminding Americans that no civilized nation should ever torture prisoners.
Torture is wrong, unambiguously. Period. The end. Civilized nations do not engage in torture and Congress has rightly acted to make absolutely clear that the United States will not engage in torture, Cruz said during the Q-and-A portion of a speech at the Heritage Foundation.

Being forced to look at pictures of Lena Dunham.
oh I agree with you on that...I was just correcting the point of history....
I'll bet you wouldn't be thinking about making him comfortable and providing clean prayer rugs, then!
the question is not that torture is right or wrong.
the question is what is torture .
it’s like air or water pollution. A fly fart or salamander piss pollutes.
Neither matters. underwear on a prisoners head or waterboarding is not either
Difi has become the enemy of America
well, I know the Japanese didn’t, but the Germans did
“the problem is, his headline makes people think hes agreeing with Di Fi - regardless of whether its true or not.”
The first mistake is believing that the conservative movement isnt filled with the same emotional drama queens that react first, and then emote second.
I like Ted, my problem is that I have liked some others who turned out to be not what I thought they were. I suppose that was to get elected.
I won’t hold one faux pas against him, but I will be on alert!
Liberals would be fine with “Torture” if Obama had ordered it..they are such phony hypocrites..its bad to water board, bad to torture to save American lives, but its A OK to just drone them..its fine and dandy when liberals kill people but bad when Republicans water board to get crucial info..awww the poor babies, they had water thrown on their faces..that’s so terrible..but Obama just drones their asses and shreds them, that’s all good..thats why you don’t see Code Pink protest outside the White House whenever someone gets droned, because they are fine with killing as long as a liberal is doing the killing
you’re missing the point completely.
They're are going to do it to them, regardless of what we do.
Im a Cruz guy. This was unforced error. His statement played into the McCain Train camp, regardless of the fact that he doesn’t agree with McCain. No need for him to say that. His statement should have been more along the lines of the fact that we live in a dangerous world ruled by the aggressive use of superior force.
the report does not even include what I call torture so here we have Ted Cruz taking the bait. Cruz I love you, man, but you are wrong on this one. We need men in the Senate that are grownups and strong enough to refute this political gamesmanship by the dems
What do you say about that?
What does anyone expect him to say????
Wouldn’t bother me inthe slightest if he secretly reversed his stance and tortured the hell out of em
If he had anything different he would be instant cannon foder...
Is there a rational definition of “Torture”?
Many of today’s political arguments are over very loosely defined concepts with shifting definitions even when defined.
“Bread & Water” for a prisoner is NOT “Torture”.
A Conservative, sane person being forced to watch videos of Hillary’s speeches, though cruel and distasteful, is NOT “Torture”.
Well, I'm pretty conservative, but I'm not going to throw Cruz under the bus over this. Personally I couldn't care less if they cut off those murderers' fingers and stuck them up their behinds, so I disagree with Cruz. No big deal, though.
Disagree. If he said he supported torture he would be savaged in the press without mercy.
“If my loved one is being held hostage, torture is wrong”. Do you really mean that? One of your own family members?
So you would let your loved one be sacrificed so you could be right?
Just....wow.
