Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings tore into MIT professor and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber on Tuesday for his remarks on American voters and the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
The ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee made GOP chairman Darrell Issas opening statement sound tame by comparison.
As far as I can tell, we are here today to beat up on Jonathan Gruber for stupid I mean absolutely stupid comments he made over the last few years, he began, staring angrily at the hapless professor.
Gruber's assessment of democrats in Congress is exactly right.
They were the only ones who voted for this.
Cummings isn't taking issue with his view of Congress, just his exposing the truth that those who voted for this are stupid.
Cummings only thinks it’s stupid that the comments were caught on camera. Otherwise, he and Gruber are on the same page.
Gruber screwed up and told the truth.
The demonicrats can’t handle the truth.
That is EXACTLY what has happened. And Gruber has to be the sacrifice, the guy in the barrel, the patsy, the pigeon.
To defend Gruber, they have to tacitly agree with what he said - the legislation was designed to fool the voters. That is something that Democrats cannot do, lest they lose the rest of their seats in 2016. Gruber will end up slit from gonads to gullet before this is over, and he richly deserves it 1) for architecting it, and 2) for helping to create the lies that legitimized Democrats’ claims about it.
Make no mistake, Democrats hate doing this but it is for survival. He’s under the Bus.
If I had the time, I’d take the Drifters’ “Under the Boardwalk” and write the lyrics with him “Under the Bus”.
He’s just mad that Gruber spilled the beans, in public.
A gruber is one of the idiots the legislation was designed to fool (democrats)
A goober is a gruber who is only upset he was called stupid, but still supports the legislation!
Cummings... your a goober!
Cummings... joke grandstander playing for his equally stupid constituents.
“Democratic congressman Elijah Cummings tore into MIT professor and Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber on Tuesday for his remarks on American voters and the passage of the Affordable Care Act.”
Mere diversionary theatre for the gullible.
Cummings and the rest of the leftist fellow travelers were fully onboard with Gruber. The only mistake Gruber made in their eyes was getting caught.
Wow.
Based on those pictures of Cummings, I would say he could star in a future Star Wars flick without having any makeup applied.
Gruber is also astonishingly honest (in his prior remarks - the non-apologies since offered notwithstanding).
“refrect.” ...they do not refrect
I believe congressman Cummings’ fake anger did not refrect the reality that his real anger was that the Obama healthcare sleight of hand was exposed by Gruber.
This fake anger is really about saving Gruber's credentials as the foremost expert on health care economics.
They need to do this to save the foundational arguments in support of Obamacare.

Perhaps off-thread, but I don’t get this whole Romney “boomlet” thing.
AFAIK the only people who seem to be talking up Romney for 2016 are 1) Close Romney associates looking to enrich themselves off another run and 2) MSM agitators trying to stir up Conservative ire.
Don’t really see that as much of a “boomlet” ...
Proof that those with low IQ can get somewhere.
Of course Goober let Cummings cat out of the bag
One of the senators from Maine, cast the decisive vote for it while in committee allowing it to go to the floor where it got approval on partisan lines.
I don’t even think Gruber should be in trouble. He’s another arrogant, know-it-all, condescending liberal, but he merely told the truth (for a change). The ones that should be in trouble are those who know full well what they were doing, and hired him to make it palatable.
By the time the Left has thrown all their heroes under the bus, there will be no one left to have created 0bummercare; it will have been created simply by the big bang theory...it just happened.
