Alberta is the freest place in North America. So says the latest edition of Economic Freedom of North America, a report the Fraser Institute has produced for the past decade based on data going back 30 years.

The freest place is where total taxes are lowest.
More money in your pocket gives us more freedom to live where we wish, send kids to college of our choice, eat better food and stay healthy, donate more to our choice of charities, travel and really learn about our world, and all other discretionary spending of our choice.
When the gov’t charges $7 tax on a pack of cigarettes, or $600 to purchase a firearm, or limits your donation to politicians of your choice, your freedom is being taken away.
Or goat humpers.
Alberta. A place with the climate of Siberia, and with the coming mini Ice Age, very very cold in the (soon to be) 7 month winter.
Or want to carry a gun.
Note that they're talking about *economic* freedom. Singapore has a high ranking as well, but it has nothing like real freedom.
