Nice shoes!
I have a couple of pairs of Justin cowboy boots—a black and a red-—purchased in the mid-nineties. They’ve been resoled but are otherwise as good as new.
I also have a pair of black leather DKNY high-heeled boots, also bought mid-nineties. They’ve been resoled over and over, and they’re still looking good and feeling great.
That said, I do buy some throwaways, LOL.
I still have 2 pair bought in early 1960s. I still wear some times.
Anyone remember the X-ray machine shoe stores had that would X-ray your feet to demonstrate to your mother what a stellar fit the shoes were?
Houston, Tx, 1940, Tom McCann Shoe stores is where I got to look at the bones in my feet in my new shoes.
Those shoes are worth some bucks today.

They sure feel superb, but I have scarce occasion to wear them. I do look forward to needing to wear them.
According to the Wiki article on the Shoe-fitting fluoroscope a typical dose for a 20 second view would be .13 Sievert, compared to a dental xray of today of about .15 MILLIsievert. ( as per wiki article, Dental Radiography )
Personally, my own general knowledge of the topic, along with the remembered experience, is what's scarier. That X-ray tube was just blasting away down there, and only a tiny fraction of the flux was consumed by the fluorescent screen, which only served as an indicator of the intense flux.
I note ( op. cit. ) that Pennsylvania was the first state to ban the machines in 1957. I guess I'm lucky I only ever used it a few times.
I wear both Sketchers and New Balance. They’re the only ones that don’t smell like the cat peed in them after two weeks.
I’m Buster Brown,
I live in a shoe.
Here’s my dog, Tige,
He lives in there, too.
PING!
Oops...wouldn’t ya love to shop there?!
Shop??
Hell, I want to inherit it!
I’ll have to try the Go Walks. I needed running shoes before my last 5K in November so I bought the Sketcher running shoes with memory foam. Oh my! They are wonderful. :-)
Good thing they were the sole heir.
Ahhh..... thank you so much for telling me about the Lekson website.
Finally...... a scholarly piece describing the contemporaneous societies of Chaco and Cahokia. Steven Lekson is my main man. His piece on the web is not just to read but to study and marvel.
Just yesterday I watched a movie about King John fighting a war with his barons after signing the Magna Carta in 1215.
England they had castles and villages. In America there was Cahokia and Aztec.
Finally, from the top of Monks mound as you look west, you see the Gateway arch and St LOuis. Just to the north a hair is Ferguson : )
Plunk your magic twanger, Froggie!
....And bid on Ebay more or less.
