Edwards made the runoff because in the primary he was the only democrat running against 4 or 5 republicans who split the vote. It’s no surprise.

Those always come in last.

Yep but I was wondering if anyone had seen anything such as turnout numbers,
lines at the polls, or was the turnout apparently low. That is where Mary’s
large numbers will come from. She got 83% or almost 95,000 votes in Nov.
from Orleans Parish. If those voters sit then it will be a run away for Cassidy.

"Wow. This leaves Nelson of FL as the only southern Dem in the Senate. He got lucky in 2012."

Don't forget the travesty that is Virginia with two Rat Senators.

Poor Mary, she got her ass kicked so badly tonight she couldn’t find enough dead people to vote for her

I’m not calling it until the early numbers from Orleans come in.

Doesn’t Nelson of FL qualify as a deep south senator? FL was part of the confederacy.

Praise God - now if we could just take the Northeast

Personally, I'd trade it to Canada for some maple syrup and a case of Molson.

You considering VA part of the south? The articles about Landrieu’s defeat were talking about the “deep” south. Florida isn’t considered part of that region either I guess.

Re: Mark Warner, that one was tough. If he had lost the Republicans would be up to 55. But I didn’t even think they would get to 54.

Associated Poltroons has called it for Cassidy. Jackie Gleason baby, wish you were hear to say: “How sweet it is!” The fat lady, dressed as Miss. Piggy, has started her finale, singing the final song: an ode to RAT corruption with a side of apple smoked bacon. How sweet it is!

Andrea Gallo @aegallo
Earliest of #NewOrleans results are in, likely what’s given Landrieu a bit of a boost. In Nola (early/absentee), Landrieu 85%, Cassidy 14%
