Los Angeles police opened an investigation into a woman's claims that Bill Cosby molested her when she was 15 years old at the Playboy mansion, a department spokeswoman said.
In response to the accusation, Hugh Hefner released the following statement about the comedian.
Bill Cosby has been a good friend for many years and the mere thought of these allegations is truly saddening. I would never tolerate this kind of behavior, regardless of who was involved.
The investigation was opened Friday after Judy Huth, who is suing Cosby for sexual battery, met with detectives for 90 minutes, Officer Jane Kim said.
Huth's civil suit claims Cosby forced her to perform a sex act on him in a bedroom of the Playboy Mansion around 1974 when she was underage.

The obvious question would be “and WTF was a 15 year old girl doing at the Playboy Mansion?!?”
LOL.
Yeah, right, Hugh.
Like ID’s were checked at the Mansion.
A spry old man performing a ‘duck and weave’.
If we can believe half the things we have heard about the Playboy Mansion, lots of sexual things happened there.
The issue of course is whether everything was between consenting adults.
It may be related to women living there. One or more could have had children.
Would I allow my daughter in there at 15? Hell no, not if I could stop it.
I’m still questioning what woman would truly want to go there.
I met a woman at a music festival who said that she lived in Chicago in the 60s and that young women went there to work out for free at the gym. Hugh and I guess his friends sat behind the mirror and watched. The girls knew but either didn’t care or thought it was the way to become a bunny. She got lost once looking for the locker room and walked into a steam room (so she says) and saw the Rolling Stones all sitting there naked.
Obvious LAPD question => "WTF was Bill Cosby doing with a 15 year old girl at the Playboy Mansion?!?
Private residence, underage drinking, but fifteen?
Lots of 18 and older.
The quote forgot the “wink wink” ending
Yeah Hef according to TMZ you stonewall the investigation
The issue of course is whether everything was between consenting adults.
Not reporting the alleged rape immediately also is an issue.
If one decades later tells the rape allegation to a tabloid first is an issue too.
LAPD opening an investigation NOW?? That's ridiculous!
I'm not saying Bill Cosby is necessarily any kind of saint. I AM saying, he doesn't have to be, as long as he commits no crimes.
Forty-year-old allegations are probably pretty unproveable (sic) either way. Which begs the question: what's the point?? Does Cosby's accuser really feel she has been denied justice? and this is the first time over the forty years that she feels she has a chance at it, finally?
I'm dubious...
and what was the Cos doing with a fifteen-year-old at the Playboy Mansion??
The Stones were lined up waiting for a group ‘portrait’ by The Plaster Casters!
Hopefully not since in 2005 he was accused of drugging and raping a woman in 2004, and settled with her in 2006, after 13 more women surfaced who would testify to his rape methods.
I am shocked, SHOCKED that this sort of behavior was going on at the Playboy mansion.
So Hef is staying out of it?
Cosby isn’t getting much support like you would expect a decent man would receive.
We don’t really such things like shock, dismay, outrage, and righteous indignation at the claims of him being a serial rapist for 40 years.
"Casting couch"?
I doubt he asked her for her proof-of-age, and if he DID, she likely had a fake ID. Kids did that all the time back then, although usually to get into bars, not into the Playboy Mansion.
I'm not making any judgment on Cosby's behavior, "partying" or whatever at the Playboy Mansion, except it's certainly unbecoming conduct IMHO.
But the question is, is he a rapist or some kind of sexual assault criminal? He was there, but that tells us nothing about what actually went on, or whether he actually even met this accuser. She says he did, that's all we know.
