Social media lit up Wednesday evening with complaints about former Hootie & the Blowfish lead singer Darius Rucker performing "White Christmas" at the annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony at New York City's Rockefeller Square. Some activists had threatened to attack the ceremony after a grand jury declined to indict a New York police officer in the death of unarmed Eric Garner during a confrontation over cigarette sales in July.

Am I sooo..not in the liberal political loop that when I read this headline I thought “what’s the big deal with ‘A White Christmas’” (this racial stuff isn’t even on my mind).

Maybe I am mistaken but I noticed NBC went all secular for the Rockefeller Center Christmas Lighting ceremony. The only religious song was Handel’s Hallelujah Chorus at the end as the end credit were rolling. Before NBC would throw in a few religious based Christmas songs but not anymore.
Darius Rucker is a normal American. We need more.
