Trey Gowdy argues that Obama is completely wrong on immigration and that he is definitely abusing the idea of prosecutorial discretion. But when it comes to doing something about it, he says that the president wants the ratings of Congress to be as low as his and that they shouldnt take the bait and shut the government down.
They can do nothing but defend themselves against an endless media onslaught of blame if Obama shuts government down. You don’t win from a defensive position.
Better to keep things running and send bills to Obama even if he vetoes them. Let him defend the vetoes.
I’m almost positive that Boner has come down hard on him or all of his committee appointments will be gone.
You know who remembered the government shutdown and factored it into their voting decision?
The people in the media and the people who live in Washington DC.
You know who didn’t remember the government shutdown and who didn’t factor it into their voting decision?
Everyone else.
Now is the PERFECT time to do it.
Me thinks Gowdy agrees with the ends but not the Regime’s means, albeit though Gowdy has an emphasis on securing the border twist. Does that throw Gowdy into the dust bin with those who failed the FR conservative litmus test?
I have been hearing that for two weeks now, from every weak kneed coward, RINO and shill both in print and TV.
Only one problem with that excuse to do the right thing. They yelled the same crap at the top of their lungs and magazines a year ago last fall. 'oh you are handing the senate to the Rats for a decade'.
Please spare us the excuses. They with Pee Wee Preibus as their mouthpiece campaigned saying if put in charge they would use EVERY means possible to stop Amnesty.
THEY LIED, now they are attempting to excuse their fraud on the Voters that put them in Charge To STOP It!
Here it is on you tube

Ha—of course you’re right.
Their definition of a “government shutdown” is to send home non-essential personnel.
Personally, I don’t see any need for non-essential personnel in the first place.
And so, to use their definition, I say shut down this government permanently.
I think you are missing the larger point.
Sure, all of that stuff you mentioned is bad BUT is it really as bad as having the media say nasty things about your party?
Come on. Get some perspective.

The House was set up with the power of the purse on purpose.
If you give that up, you concede the only check and balance you have over the Executive branch.
First GOPer (voter?): "Hey! You're supposed to offer us a last cigarette!"
Second GOPer (Gowdy, et al?) (whispering): "Shh! Don't make trouble."
Amnesty is a distraction and always has been.
Every two years amnesty becomes a big fight while the border is completely ignored. The end result is absolutely nothing happening while illegals continue to pour across the border.
It doesn’t matter if we give illegals amnesty or not if the border is wide open. They just give themselves amnesty by walking in at will.
Its time to stop the bleeding and then we can worry about the infection it causes.

Yours is a point of view I have not considered.
One wonders what it’s like to co-exist with Progressives who are he&&-bent on bringing revolution to the
United States. (They have to be some of the most obnoxious punks in the world, considering the obnoxiousness of the punks out here in the real world who support them.)
IMHO
Remember the government shutdown led by Ted Cruz in 2013 over Obamacare? How much did that hurt the Reps in the 2014 midterms?
Gowdy is one of the few who walk the talk but he is also smart enough to pick his battles.
We all know how the media would spin another government shutdown.
And you can bet they are foaming at the mouth for another bite at that apple.
Is it more important to win the immediate battle or to win the long war?
Everyone has to decide that for him or her self.
But we cannot deny that the media gives Obama a great advantage in any open confrontation.
Republicans need to be smart.
Obama may think he is a cool cat, but as the old adage goes - there is more than one way to skin a cat.
Everybody wants to switch to instant hate the minute somebody has a different opinion about something.
We’ve been running this same play for 20 years. Its time to turn the page and look at the rest of the playbook.
I say we demand real, effective, proven border security for not less than 5 years before we even speak to democrats about amnesty.
