Boehner Poised to Deal With the Devil to Avoid Shut-Down?
Breitbart ^ | 2 Dec 2014, 6:59 PM PDT | Dan Riehl

With House conservatives wanting to keep the pressure on Barack Obama given his end run of the political process when it comes to illegal immigration, reports indicate Republican House Speaker John Boehner may be considering doing the un-thinkable -- abandoning House conservatives to do a deal with Democrat Leader Nancy Pelosi to keep the government open long-term.

Hardline conservatives who have caused problems for leaders for years were not falling in line. These conservatives estimate their ranks are 30 to 40, enough to derail a vote.

That swelling Republican opposition gives Pelosi and her down-in-the-dumps House Democrats some unexpected power: the ability to rescue Boehner’s Republican Conference as Democrats have again and again in the big fights of the past three years.

If Boehner cuts that deal, it will serve as a warning that Boehner intends to do precisely as some have predicted, abandon House Conservatives next year and rely on moderates and Democrats  to govern weakly, to the extent he can. That stands in stark contrast to Democrats and former Speaker Nancy Pelosi who seemed to relish shoving bills like ObamaCare down America's throat, GOP opposition be damned.

So after a big election victory this fall in which Republicans took the Senate and strengthened their grip on the House, instead of Republicans uniting around their own leadership’s plan, they are about to risk giving more control to Pelosi’s shrinking Democratic Caucus. It makes Boehner allies cringe.

Pelosi (D-Calif.) has been coy about where she’ll fall — she and her allies have sent signals she’ll oppose the measure — but her circle says she’s mulling over her options. It’s clearly a touchy situation for Democrats. Steny Hoyer, Pelosi’s deputy, told POLITICO in the morning he might support the measure, but later in the day, he walked back his statement.

“Has the texas governor put the national guard on the border like HE PROMISED.....BEFORE SUMMER???”

He did, but he waited until the traffic was slowed down by the desert heat. Perry is still trying to straddle that fence.

A5 or A25 works. The problem isn’t so much DC. It’s ‘us’. The supposed right wing. WE are collectively responsible because we collectively actively put the problem in power. And we did it repeatedly and made excuses for it. No, some of us stood firm. But we are on the right as well. We are saddled with the idiocy of the rest.

Until that changes...until people responsible admit their responsibility, if only to themselves (though they DO owe the rest of us a heartfelt apology), then they will let their ego rule their reason and they will continue the same destruction of America they have partaken in every election.

Once they stop, then we can begin fixing the mess. Not before. Because until ‘we’ collectively stop, the mistakes continue. Simple math. People don’t like hearing it. But they never disprove it.

We can send conservatives to congress into infinity and it won't make any difference.

Two points:

One, the Framers’ constitution accounted for man's nature, his tendency to seek power over others. They countered it with a government design which first divided power vertically between the states and the government they created, then horizontally between three branches. The constitution acts on both the people and the states. In order to have a republic, the states MUST be represented in the law making body. The 17th amendment set up internal contradictions which, a hundred years later, are tearing our nation apart.

Second, consider something we don't hear very often anymore since the demise of the USSR, which is the leftist claim that socialism hasn't worked anywhere, ever, because the right people haven't been put in charge. Too many conservatives think the same, that all we need to do is elect the right people to “make the constitution work.” That concept removes us from a nation of laws in to that of a nation of men, and eventual tyranny.

Every day it becomes more obvious that the current problems of the country cannot be solved from within the corrupt duopoly of the Republicrat government. Boehner and McConnell are part of the problem, not the solution. Obama is becoming a dictator and is opening the country to destruction by the American haters of all stripes, and the Republican leadership is a combination of active collusion and obsequious cowardice to curry favor with the radical Left running us into the ground. There will have to be an apocalyptic disaster in the US to change this course.

As I recall, they for the most part surrendered after their win in ‘94, too.

They’d been in the habit of letting the ‘rats run the show for 40 years, and old habits are hard to break.

No, Complicit. He’s not being blackmailed. He’s a liberal. I used to think he was being blackmailed as well so I understand the idea. His REPEATED enthusiasm to sell America out as often as he does shows me otherwise.

Winner, pick up the courtesy phone.

“Shut the dammed government down ... let Obama and the dems sweat. If the government were shut down for a while, mayhap the King and his court would learn a thing or two.”..

How long would the gubmint need to be shut down before we can reduce that 18 trillion debt?

Boehner needs to be GONE, just like Reid, Pelosi and odumbo.
He has no backbone and is definitely NOT good for this country nor its people.

"The unthinkable"? Really? What's going on with Brietbart?

Levin's been calling Boehner a collaborator since last year.

Everyone of us needs to call our congress men and insist that Boehner does NOT get re-confirmed as the leader. He has NOT done a good job since hes been there and there is no sign he will do a good job if the stays there. Remove him ASAP.

I'm a little foggy, could someone remind me why it was so important to vote rinos back into office?

In the general election, it can make sense. Scott Brown, a RINO's RINO, was a far better senatorial candidate than Liawatha, the commie's commie.

We have to root them out in the primaries.
