Bush and Romney should take a hand in hand, long walk on a short pier.

Jeb...Jeb...Jeb. Go away.

Okay, that's your opinion. Why did he keep getting elected in a state that is so obviously red? I mean the same thing can be said about OBOZO, but just as easily laid at the feet of the big electoral college states with big liberal populations. I also think that Obama is an aberration in election results because many didn't want to be seen turning out a minority.

Perry is not half the conservative that Cruz is. So I will respectfully disagree with your respectful disagreement.LOL I'm sure you're correct. But he has zero Executive experience, whereas running one of the biggest states in the union for longer than anybody else and being a success at it is going to make Perry more attractive to a bigger percentage of the electorate. You cannot be elected on the conservative base alone.

Why did he keep getting elected in a state that is so obviously red? Because even conservatives are more inclined to vote for the devil they know, rather than the devil they don't know.
Also, the same party machinations that propelled liberal Mitt Romney to the nomination, are the same as what maneuvered Perry to the front of the Republican pack, time and time again.
Frankly, we were stuck with the guy, and had nowhere else to go. It was better than staying home or turning the state over to a Democrat.

When you spend 37 years banging a conservative head against a wall of RINOism it feels so good to stop!

What he did with the unions is enough for me to want to see him in the mix. Wouldn’t mind seeing Palin there as well. Everybody has something that someone is going to find to be a flaw, Perry, Pence, and Jindal included. But it would be awesome so see us run a field of governors like the 5 of them.

What he did with the unions is enough for me to want to see him in the mix.I understand your point on that score and it's well taken, but being anti Second Amendment will also put him (potentially) into the mix of other liberal views that will not resonate with the base... just like Jeb. I'll bet he supports Common Core. Palin won't run for POTUS again, she's having too much effect with endorsements in the party. She's become a "Kingmaker" within the party and it's not nearly as much work as running a campaign. And certainly not as expensive. She's make a great Secretary of Energy, though.
