Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee has been something of an afterthought in the early coverage of the emerging Republican presidential field.
That might be a little shortsighted, according to the results of a Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll released last week.
Mr. Huckabee, who defied expectations in 2008 by winning the Iowa caucuses, is viewed more positively by fellow Republicans than nine potential rivals, including former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul.
The numbers alone arent enough to nudge the former Arkansas governor into the top-tier of Republicans considering a bid, but they do serve as a reminder that many assumptions about the GOP field are dangerously premature. The Republicans generating the most headlines arent necessarily the ones who excited GOP primary voters.

This story is meaningless. In essence, it says that Huckabee has more name recognition than others in the field today — a lifetime before the real race starts. If these types of polls meant anything, Dan Quayle and Rudy Giuliani would have been GOP nominees.
Huckabee is a nanny-state Christian Socialist, George Bush’s Compassionate Conservatism on steroids. There is no way in Hell he comes close.

More name recognition than Chris Christie and Jeb Bush?
Just what we need another cycle overpopulated by can’ts sucking dollars and votes away from the cans. I bet we get every one of the last cycles losers throwing their dunce caps into the ring again and giving the demonrats another big advantage in message and funds.
Weve got until about August before the would- be candidates start their engines for the big race.
That being said, I am appalled at the number of conservatives who think the Huckster is one of us just because he runs a rather entertaining television show. So did Jim & Tammy Baker.

HA HA HA!
The funny newspaper idiot thinks we believe him!
Mike Huckabee Defies Assumptions About his sanity..........................
True Dat. Fred Thompson nailed the Huckster in 2008 ...
Mike Huckabee has 99.7987% name recognition among all of those who bought Kenny Rogers' Hymn and Religious Song Ablum. Besides, his home state, Arkansas, is now known as "The Mother of Presidents."
There will be a slight technical problem when (not if) he is elected President in a landslide. That is, the top engineers at Winnebago can figure out how to put wheels on the White House.
You do better stand up than those I paid money to see : )
Being a Baptist, he can’t drink beer............................(in public)...................
What can a Catholic do that a Baptist cannot?
Say hi to his friends in the liquor store...............
Mike Huckabee: Bill Clinton with a Banjo
Chris Cristie: Bobby Bacala should not run for POTUS
Rick Santorum: Would make a great producer for EWTN
Jeb Bush: No more, Please.
Ben Carson: The Huckabee of 08' for 2016
Newt: OJNTSA ( yes the photo of they guy with his hand on his head )
Mitt Romney: They don't sell Isuzu's here anymore Joe
Ted Cruz: Senate Majority Leader, those words are music to my ears.
Rand Paul: A Deadhead for POTUS?
Marco Rubio: I could have been a contenda...
That leaves: Scott Walker, Rick Perry, Mike Pence, John Kasich, and maybe even Rick Snyder.
Pence / Walker, Walker / Pence and or Martinez would work for me.
We have to build a Conservative for Palin type ground game for our top dog soon, the E-GOP / Enemedia will be trying to kabash any Reaganite we have to check them into the boards before they get to the puck so to speak...
If only the VFW Bar paid a bit better I might consider giving up my elected position.
I still think that Sarah Palin is quietly preparing for a 2016 run—and will make an announcement probably by the summer of 2015. And she’ll only be 52 in 2016, compared to nearly 69 years old for Hillary Clinton.
STFU, OK?
The Republican Candidates in 2016 will be Bob Dole and John McAnus. Should either one of them die in the meantime, we got Jeb Bush. Your sort of trouble-making could cost RINOs money. Decades have been spent reaching across the aisle to get the GOPe share of the goodies. You want to wreck that ...FU a free lunch? Foxtrot Oscar, Pal!
Por inglés, oprime número dos.
Ask any true conservative in Arkansas about the truly non-conservative Governor Huckabee.
RE: Mike Huckabee: Bill Clinton with a Banjo
C’mon, does he prey on women?
No but he is just as slick....
