First of all, driving an 18 wheel 30 ton monster across the country takes a little more skill than stocking peanut butter on a shelf.

Secondly, in order to raise wages, you have to get rid of all the illegal aliens that are working under the table, lowering the wage base and not paying taxes.

Walmart isn't the only company that has employees and if these people think
they're worth more then they'll have offers for higher pay. Walmart is a starter
company for people to gain reputation and work ETHICS!, not a company to retire

Imagine if you ran a small business, and you decided to give some kid a part-time job a little above or minimum wage for about twenty hours a week. You could probably do without the kid, but it's a little easier for you with him.

Then at some point the kid comes around and demands he gives you double his wages and he gets to work full-time...even though the job only needs about 15-20 hours a week. Would you keep that kid?

Friday marked the third consecutive year of scattered but highly visible protests against Walmart.

Highly visible because the media, notified of the times and locations of the protests, obligingly dispatches crews to the scene to tape close-cropped views of the "crowd" of fifteen or twenty paid demonstrators (while ignoring a crowd twenty times as large a few blocks away protesting Common Core or some other less favored cause).

I normally avoid big stores on Black Friday like the plague, but, having heard on Thursday of planned protests at Wal-Marts, went a few blocks out of way to dash into one to pick up some odds and ends. No protesters in sight. Big mobs of shoppers, though.
