The parents of the late Michael Brown Jr., Michael Brown Sr. and Lesley McSpadden, released a calming and powerful statement on Monday night in the wake of a grand jury decision not to indict Officer Darren Wilson for the shooting death of that unarmed teenager over the summer.
“While we understand that many others share our pain, we ask that you channel your frustration in ways that will make a positive change. We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen,” the statement read. “We respectfully ask that you please keep your protests peaceful. Answering violence with violence is not the appropriate reaction.”
The Brown family’s comments were so measured that they were cited by President Barack Obama when he took to the podium in the White House on Monday night ahead of riots which were soon to spiral out of control.
The spirit of that statement was not, however, matched by the Brown family’s actions.
McSpadden, inconsolable with grief in the wake of the grand jury’s decision, appeared before a crowd in Ferguson alongside her husband, Louis Head. While consoling his grieving wife, Head (beginning about 1:30 and exploding at the 3:10 mark) determined that the best way to address what he perceived to be injustice was to “Burn this s*** down! Burn this b**** down!” (Language Warning):
Civilization is what causes this to happen, that’s what must be fixed. It’s unfair that some people are capable of civility and some apparently are not.
We need to work together to fix the system that allowed this to happen,” the statement read.
HUH? The system had nothing to do wite color of his skin thoughth what happened.
What happened was soley the responsibility of Mike Brown.
If you want to delve further then his parents. Did they know he was strong arm robbing stores? What did that teach him that made him think this was okay?
lawyers wrote the statement of course.
I guess so long as it benefits(rightfully or wrongfully)the cause(not to mention the profits)...that's all that matters, truth is irrelevant.

If just one tenth of the rioters last night had cared about the dead eighteen year old enough to try to prevent him from being a thug, he would still be alive! All that energy and destruction should be channeled into preventing the distorted view of the world that Mr. Brown had to prevent other children from following in the same direction. What does it do to a four to twelve year olds mind to see their brothers and sisters rioting?
Oh I am sure they will arrest him for inciting a riot.

Now I understand what was confusing me about Michael Brown Sr’s statements and the actions of his son. Didn’t fit the apple being so far from the tree. This stepfather must have had a greater influence on Jr.
It’s a permanent voting block for Democrats. But what Democrats don’t understand is this is no longer the ‘60s and ‘70s. For at least the last thirty years the rise of ‘’hip hop’’ culture, violent, misogynistic, authority-hating rap music spewed out by barely literate blacks has imbued today’s young blacks with an attendant hateful attitude towards themselves, white America, black women(who are equally to blame) and especially towards law enforcement which they see as ‘’cracker(white) police officers who just want to kill black males. It’s also about money. Money made by the rap stars and the quick and easy way to a life of leisure , money in more taxes to fix ‘’endemic racism’’, money paid to black university professors who continue to fill young minds, black and white with the same hatred, only couched in a better vocabulary and, though it may seem odd, The War On Drugs, which next to slavery, is quite possibly the worst social legislation ever enacted. Follow the money. If you want to end of lot of what Ferguson brings to the fore, legalize drugs.
And the white-run music companies loved it because rap is cheap to produce, and makes huge profits for them.
