The Republican Lieutenant governor of Missouri today said he believes the states Democratic Governor, Jay Nixon, did not deploy National Guard troops to Ferguson to prevent the outbreak of violence because of pressure from the Obama administration to keep them away.
Heres my question that the governor must answer, Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder said today. Is the reason that the national guard was not in there is because the Obama administration and the Holder Justice Department leaned on you to keep them out?
Kinder noted that the Guard had been sent to other locations in the region. I cannot imagine any other reason why the governor who mobilized the National Guard would not have them in (to Ferguson) to stop this, before it started, he said.
Indeed, there were reports Holder was not happy with Nixons efforts to display force and use the National Guard. From an article Friday in the Washington Post:

crowd control is for orderly crowds, not riots
Even if ammo was not issued, troops would have had their own. Either in their pockets or stashed nearby.
The repressive government is controlled by the allies of the rioters - in DC and across the US. They threaten violence, and get catered to. They riot because it works, and it isn’t punished.
Only people in the third world rate US protection from civil disorder and violence.
Jay Nixon should be removed, and scapegoated for everything that went wrong. Henceforth, no one will agree to be Zero’s and Holder’s fall guy.
Yeah, if you look back to the 70s, violent campus riots almost completely ceased after Kent State. Not saying it was right, just making the point that something good came out of it.
” crowd control is for orderly crowds, not
riots”
Then just start shooting everyone. It worked so well for the Brits in Boston.
Know the limits of what is wise. Is the goal to vent our anger at rioters? Or is it to control the situation.
Did the method you advocate control the situation?

You're right.
Napalm the entire area.
Buildings and businesses destroyed, jobs destroyed....
That is an interesting observation. Thanks.
I believe that Lieutenant Governor Kinder has just declared for the Republican primary for governor in 2016.
I don’t view getting shot at as “small stuff”. If the guard is deployed on site and they take fire they should shoot back. If you don’t want that risk do not deploy them and let things burn.
1. Holder and Obama caused Governor Nixon to stand down the National Guard and not support St. Louis County police in the critical hour after the 8:00 p.m. grand jury announcement; and
2. the majority of Ferguson businesses destroyed were minority-owned.
The reason the businesses were burned was because white radicals armed with automatic weapons ran cover for their own white radical arsonists. These white veterans of violent SDS Weatherhead demonstrations at Occupy Wall Street and G8/G20 'events' used old, established and known tactics: wear masks for anonymity, crowbar hoarding, smash windows, backpack kerosene inside to ignite fires and cover with live fire.
The St. Louis County police did not have the manpower, equipment or training to prevent these professional white rioters from carrying out their terror. Obama and Holder wanted it that way and leaned on Governor Nixon to make sure that the arsonists were not stopped.
The National Guard would have neutralized the white radical snipers and the arsonists would not have been able to start the fires. The only deaths would have been of professional snipers most, if not all, of whom were white. The County Police chief's statement that without 10,000 troops the fires could not have been prevented was simply a lie and a lame excuse.
The purpose was to exacerbate national racial division, which strengthens the democrat turnout in elections. The Democrats' timing was off, however. The good ethical Democrat prosecutor would not ask the Grand Jury for a decision until they had reviewed all the evidence, nor would he resign. That pushed the Grand Jury decision date past the midterm elections.
This was, as usual, black-on-black violence, in this case by destroying black-owned businesses. There was no support for the Left's meme that this was black revenge on white business oppressors of blacks. The white radicals punished successful blacks for daring to leave the government dependency plantation.
Meanwhile, the media will continue to tell the low-information voter that Ferguson is all about white racism; unless we get the word out.
So effectively Holder served as the real Governor of Missouri.
Tie that one around Nixon’s neck.
I wonder if this is the same reason phalanxes of cops just stood around doing nothing but watch the buildings burn without any attempts by the fire department to put them out.
Whole thing made no sense. Maybe the cops figured the Feds would go after them as both Obama and Holder repeatedly ordered “restraint”, so they decided they’d show the requested “restraint. After all, that way they wouldn’t risk being hounded to death for the rest of their lives with bogus DOJ “civil rights” persecutions and they knew no one would really are or criticize them for just safely standing around.
Either that or someone ordered them to immediately stand down after their initial crowd-dispersing tear-gas dispensing. I’m guessing a stand-down order came because all cops in all locations stopped all enforcement activities at the same time. Looks like the fire department stood down at the same time.
Why don’t you ask the owners of the businesses burned, looted and destroyed...do you think they would rate the riot “wimpy?”
