Bill Cassidy’s low-key strategy seems to be working

Washington — Chances are that Republican Bill Cassidy doesn’t consult an actual game plan that spells out how he can unseat Democrat Mary Landrieu in the U.S. Senate race in Louisiana that will be decided Dec. 6.

But if he were doing so, it could read something like this:

For the Nov. 4 open primary, establish a position as the best-financed, mainstream Republican candidate to fend off any tea party challenge.

The less you see of Bill the better. He has a fake smile and comes across a bit.. odd.

His ads with Mary and Obama are the best. Just keep tying those two together and keep his mug low profile.

I think any strategy and any candidate would be working against Landrieu this go round.

Mary Landrieu is just making a fool of herself by trying to be all things to all people such as in her Keystone pipeline debacle and calling out the people of Louisiana for being racist. If I’m Bill Cassidy why even campaign when the opponent is too busy imploding.

Landrieu can’t win in the current political environment because Obama is deeply unpopular and the GOP is now the dominant party in LA.

Cassidy the RINO will win. He beat Maness of the Tea Party and will go to Washington to ultimately disappoint grassroots conservatives.

The Republicans get grassroots conservatives drugged up with rage towards Obama and Democrats to make the RINO candidates look good. People get their pants all in a wad and vote for RINO’s. The RINO’s then “fornicate” us and do nothing to meaningfully reverse liberalism in general or Obama’s policies of Obamacare and Amnesty in particular.

Nigel Farage is my leader and I hope we wake up from the drunken stupor we get from the GOPe and the media friendly to them and begin to give people a third option.

A PARTY THAT WANTS TO CHANGE THINGS AND NOT PRETEND ITS GOING TO CHANGE THINGS.....

Your analysis of Cassidy as a RINO is absurd.

Have you seen miss mary piggy, crawling in the dirt,
and her Bammy with his demmies, left her one vote short,
clutching for her seat, to save her bacon.

I saw this article when I went through all the state’s newspapers this morning. It seems to be a relatively balanced piece, except for one thing.

Nowhere in it does the author cite any polls, even though there are several out that show Cassidy winning by anywhere from 11 to 21 points.

Wonder why?

Its because all the Paid Media in Louisiana support Landrieu. The (New Orleans) Times Picayune even endorsed her again the other day.

Compared to Maness he is, lets watch what Cassidy does or should I say pretends he’s doing in Washington once he gets there.

We need real conservatism like Maness has to make things better in this country. The Cassidy’s of politics won’t do that.

She was “unseated” the instant it went into a runoff.

Cassidy is a doctor with a great feel for Obama Care - he also has a voting record to the right of the average GOP House member. It’s fine to say “watch him” once he gets there...although he’s been there six years already...but it’s still absurd to call him a RINO.

That makes the term totally meaningless.

And BTW, I like Maness a lot, but Cassidy isn’t the problem.

Cassidy only has to point out two things and he will get elected.

1. She voted for Obamacare.

2. She's bossy.

We need real conservatism like Maness has to make things better in this country. The Cassidy’s of politics won’t do that.

Lately both the Republicans and Democrats have been voting along party lines almost 95% of the time, so the difference between a RINO and conservative doesn't seem like much. A politician of either party that rejects one size fits all legislation and permits city slickers to be communists while allowing county people to be free makes everybody happy. For example we should support legislation that restricts city slicker gun ownership while country folks can carry. Most rural counties in CA are already shall-issue while in most Democrat counties residents can forget it. That type of law making is great. Politics is bad when city slickers try to impose their lifestyle on country people and vice versa.

My local TV News stations is very biased to Landrieu. This KATC TV 3 - Lafayette.

However, Fox 15 KADN Lafayette had an opinion in favor of Cassidy and this was before the election. It was just one person giving his comments, and not those of the station.

I would agree. Cassidy is someone who gave up on the Democrat Party (because it changed its values, or so he claimed).

Republicans in Louisiana tend to be very right wing. My only disappointment with Senator David Vitter is that he did join Senator Cruz and Senator Lee in their strong support of the TEA Party...

Senator David Vitter is supposed to run for governor in 2016.

I would hope Rob Maness would get a chance for his seat in the Senate...
