JUDY WOODRUFF, PBS NEWSHOUR: Well, it lets look at those.
You have already got some Republicans. Its only two weeks almost since the midterms. You have already got Republicans out there talking about whether theyre going to or people talking about whether theyre going to run, whether its Jeb Bush. John Kasich won by 30 points in the state of Ohio, won reelection.
Are we beginning, David, to see the shape of who may run on the Republican side? We know, on the Democratic side, Jim Webb, the former United States senator from Virginia, formed an exploratory committee.
DAVID BROOKS: Right. Right.
JUDY WOODRUFF: I dont know how much a threat you think he is to Hillary Clinton.
DAVID BROOKS: Right.
Well, on the Republican side, the great and the good are hoping for Jeb Bush, very pro-immigration, by the way. And I think he would
RUTH MARCUS: Jeb Bush.
DAVID BROOKS: If he runs, he would be strong.
John Kasich has been undertalked about. He is knows Washington very well, was a senior budget official, a congressman. He has been a very successful governor, very popular, won by huge margins in the swingiest of the swing states, has strong connections in among religious conservatives, is just quirky enough for a country thats kind of angry, but just establishment enough for a country that doesnt want a crazy person.

The Good and Great what? I know Good and Great Tea Partiers aren’t.
Please let’s not let the libs choose our candidate like what happened with Romney.
...the great and the good
No sense of democracy. No sense of humility.
Ok David has lost his last remaining marble.
DAVID YOU DORK
NO ONE WANTS JEB
TWO WORDS
TERRI SHIAVO
F Jeb Bush and the legless the dickless horse he rides in on.
Sounds like Brooks has checked out the crease in Jeb’s slacks.
Well, on the Republican side, the great and the good are hoping for Jeb Bush, very pro-immigration, by the way. And I think he would ......................... lose! That’s what she means. The country club republicans are too stoopid, they’ll screw it up with their Candidate debate circus where the MSM will decide the winner. I liked Jeb as Governor, but I can’t go with a Dynasty vote, we need a very strong Leader, because the going is going to be tough, and the tough will have a lot of going to do because of the mess left behind.
The Good and Great what? I know Good and Great Tea Partiers aren’t hoping for JEB!! Ted Cruz/ (Walker/Daniels/ Lee/conservative) 2016
The entertainers on the PBS Newshour are all feeding from the same trough as Obamacare fraud Jonathan Gruber. Just as in the past two Presidential elections, they cheer for the weakest Republican loser nomination. So, it’s no surprise that they are trying to manufacture Jeb Bush into a credible candidate.
Judy Driftwood: still unable to put together a coherent thought, since the 1980s:

The ONLY people hoping Jeb Bush will run for the GOP are the liberal media
Hoping for who?
After eight years of a fascist police state from the DemocRATS, the “great and the good” want a Republican who believes in “bipartisanship” and will give the commie DemocRATS everything they want.
Defund PBS
...and now we hear from the low testosterone Republicans.....
Thank the Lord I’m from Minnesota, so I don’t get to help in selecting the nominee, but then, I never take the blame for losing, either.
If they are already talking Jeb, I’m gone.
The annointing oil will go stale if used this early.
Is this the same David Brooks that at one time championed the ‘R’ side of the argument even though he was homosexual.
Did he not ride that Horse into the ground then ‘switch sides’ and all the D/Libs that were calling him a liar and turncoat and worse all of a sudden turned him into an ‘instant’ man of words while the R’s that had been touting that not ‘ALL’ of them are ‘bad’ suddenly turned on this guy like he was a Leper?
Even in the beginning the Romney ‘folks’ were telling us that maybe he couldn’t exactly ‘WHUP’ an incumbent B Obama, but ‘we’ definitely needed him on the ballot to ensure we would end up with a Senate Majority at the least and possibly the Presidency.
May have worked but in the process MR completely destroyed his R opponents and in the process alienated their followers so bad that a great number of them just stayed home.
So the bottom line was we got neither the Presidency or the Senate even with the MR backers destroying R’s running in local races...
