(KMOV.com) It can be a terrifying situation when a driver is in their vehicle and is suddenly surrounded by protesters and it happened multiple times during protesting in Ferguson.
So what do you do if you find yourself in this situation? News 4s Sharon Reed sat down with two security experts who shared their 60 years experience.
Its important to remember to:
Remain calm. Getting excited tends to get others excited. Slow down. Dont run anyone over where you will injure them. Stay in your vehicle. Keep the doors locked and windows rolled up. If you are inside your car, police can identify who are the victims and who are the aggressors.

Sad, but true.
That’s how I picture it
Scary
Gun the engine a little, the burnt oil smoke and noise from the hole in the muffler will make em move.
All-wheel-drive, good HP and torque, and plenty of ground clearance are your friends, in the event you should be in this unfortunate situation.
As I read down the posts on this thread I was laughing myself out of breath. THEN, I read your and almost passed out. OMG that was funny.
>>The anti Viet Nam war riots and campus disturbances stopped after Kent State.
There are plenty of indications that similar agitators were at work then, that appear to be at work in Ferguson today.
Who is this security expert?

Be sure and ask Reginald Denny what he should have done.
The unreality of it all. It’s those who would surround a person’s vehicle who should be told to fear for their lives.
Amen...
If you are driving a car through a riot zone expect to be confronted.
Stay out of riot zones. You might get a brick in the head.
Flesh and bone are no match for a mass of hurtling steel propelled by shaft horsepower & carried by tires under pressure, & with a weight differential of more than ten to one.
Famous last words: “P*ssy, you ain’t gonna do dat!!!”
These so called security experts want you to be calm and do not run over anyone? They expect the police to rescue you? Are these clowns out of their minds? If the bad guys start breaking your windows or try to turn your car over, I believe I would be running over someone. Maybe Reginald Denny should have done that in the LA riots, hoping the DA would buy self defense.
Stay 100 miled from the area forever.
I always wondered why people slowed down at the Florence and Normandy intersection.
Reminds me of a picture I saw of an Asian woman's body wrapped around a front wheel, immobilized the car (accident in Asia somewhere). You don't want debris anywhere in the steering parts of the chassis, or around the driveshaft. Not that I worry about such things, as I'm not going anywhere near Ferguson.
Police will be all busied out elsewhere, quite likely.
Yes a good running start!
Many of the protesters are beyond obese and may cause the car to high center!
Not sure of the required ‘escape velocity’?
No substitute for cubic inches!
