"Aside from the pouting and lawsuits that won't amount to anything, nothing is going to happen to stop Obama's decree on immigration."

If they ignore their base, they can be voted out like Cantor.

Instead of leaving DC for holiday vacation Boehner should be calling them back in.

There is an enormous assault on the House of Representatives, the Constitution, and the rule of law, and Boehner is oblivious to the scale of the attack.

It’s scarcely two weeks since a historic victory and Republicans are squandering it. They MUST confront Obama NOW.

Specifically, what do you want them to do about this?

Hint: Obama is trying to goad the new congress into starting impeachment. The leadership knows this. Now what?

Why? Because, as RINOS, McConnell and Boehner want what Obama wants.

Good luck trying to convince GOP Party hacks and loyalists of that fact.

The GOP leadership made it perfectly clear, but most Right-leaning Americans have acute cognitive dissonance when it comes to the fact that Obama's agenda IS THEIR agenda. The GOP Ruling Class has also made it clear that the Conservative 'wacko-bird' right wing nuts' they despise and are AT WAR WITH, now engaged in the all-out-assault to silence and relegate us into irrelevance.

I’m counting on the GOP voter base in 2016 to follow the words of
Adm. Yamamoto:

“I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve.”

This is just an attempt to shut-up those extreme TEA party types. That's all that's gonna happen here. What do you think?

I believe they will make some efforts in this case. I agree that their main concern is their careers and their power.
Losing their power is a serious problem for legislators of both parties.

I would like to see them go to the mat on this one.
Obama is willing to risk everything.
While it may not be illegal to do what he is doing, the legislature also have some things they can do that are not illegal which will counter Obama.

I keep wondering what would happen if the legislature would defund the government .?
shut the whole thing down for a year or two. No bureaucrats, no military, no courts, no welfare, no social security, no taxes, nothing. Of course the individual states would pick up the slack on administration and border protection. Churches could help out with the charitable causes. I believe it would be a chance for a new beginning to rid ourselves of the beast in Washington that is no longer functioning as intended.

Impeachment is only half the battle, it’s the removal from office that we seem to forget.

They are all part of the same party, the Progressive Party. There are Republicans and Democrats in that party. Republicans are like a wing of the Progressive party that favors slow, evolutionary change to a global socialist society that controls every aspect of a citizen's life. Maybe with some crony capitalism along the way, so that they can be part of the elite. Democrats are in more of a hurry about it.

As a result, when Democrat progressives do something that Republican progressives think goes too far too quickly, they get annoyed and argue with Democrat progressives. Politely and knowing their place, for the leadership of the progressive party is clearly within the Democrats, and Republican progressives are merely those on the fringes asking to be heard with their suggestions.

However, when conservatives pop up, and their goal is not to work with Democrat Progressives to implement their goals, but to stop Democrat progressives, and then to tear down what progressives have done to our country lo these 100+ years, then it provides a chance for the Republican progressives to prove their chops to Democrat progressives. "We've got this", they tell their Democrat leaders, and then they tear into Republican conservatives like they were the enemies of all that is good and right. They fight, they name call, the dirty deal, they do whatever it takes, to keep conservatives from having any real power to affect policy in any way possible. To Republican progressives and Democrat progressives alike, conservatives are the enemy. They have goals, dreams and a world view that are antithetical to the progressives in both parties, and they ARE the enemy.

Boehner and McConnell are progressives. It's that simple. So, while they would not have done what Obama did, they do not disagree with the policy and they will argue with him about how he did it, but they won't say anything nasty and they won't do anything to undo what he did. They will do whatever they can to try to get the illegals to like them, to see that they are progressive, too.

There is an analogous relationship between so-called moderate Muslims and those who are actively following the teachings of their religion. Moderate Muslims don't want to behead their neighbors, and don't want to rape the infidels, but they will give only lip service to criticism when their co-religionists do it, and they are happy when new lands are gained for Islam. If you ask them, whether in Britain, the US or Germany, whether they would like sharia law to govern the whole world, over 90 percent would say yes. They just can't bring themselves to do the things necessary to bring that about, but they secretly applaud their fellow Muslims who do.

I’m not so sure .. I think then current leaders have seen what the BASE of the repubs is made of (since 11/4) and it’s not what they may want, but it’s what they’re stuck with.

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO: You go to the Senate/House websites and you find out what their phone numbers are .. and you call them DAILY IF YOU HAVE TO .. just in order to make them understand we expect them to support and defend America and her LAWS.

Here’s the main switchboard - 202-224-3121 - ask for any representative or senator. Be smart .. have your question or statement written down .. practice it so you won’t be nervous. Don’t call anybody foul names (even though you might want to), and make it short and to the point. AND, call at a different time of day each time.

If you’re not willing to do that .. then you have no argument.

A REPUBLIC (we are not a democracy) is of THE PEOPLE. Except, if the people lay down on the job and don’t tell their elected what they expect; the REPUBLIC will no longer exist.

I agree. If anything, they’ll use Obama’s amnesty as an excuse to do their own. Any opposition they show now is nothing but theater.

You have a point. Unfortunately most of the Management of the major corporations, which have an undue influence on some Republican office holders, are only focused on the increased markets & cheaper labor from a flood of new bodies. Thus the compromised Pseudo-Conservative game playing.

But the ultimate issue, here, is the very survival of the Republic as a Federation of free States, dedicated to preserving the American heritage, born in the Declaration & vindicated at York Town in 1781. To understand why so much of Academia runs cover for those frustrating all efforts to control our border, see Surrender By Subterfuge.

We will either wake up all who are capable of understanding the heritage that is being dismembered, or it will rapidly become too late.
