With a grand jury decision on the Ferguson shooting death of Michael Brown expected soon, the Justice Department released new guidelines Friday to help "maintain public safety while safeguarding constitutional rights" of demonstrators who are preparing to gather in cities around the country after the decision is announced.
Attorney General Eric Holder announced the new guidelines in a video posted Friday morning on the Justice Department's Web site. In it, Holder also exhorts protesters and police to keep the peace to "minimize needless confrontation" an extraordinary plea for calm before a local judiciary event from the nation's attorney general.

We no longer go by the Constitution. The majority of voters in 2008 and 2012 said, via their votes, this is what they want. They are about to reap the fruits of their labor.
I’ll tell them this: if these so-called “protesters” come out and block another major interstate highway like they did on I-75 in Atlanta, and start coming over and rocking white people’s cars like I heard they were doing, they are going to be in a world of hurt. I will defend myself and my family, with whatever force is necessary.
and Dictator Obama will make sure that you pay dearly.
so this guy Holder now thinks he’s the local police chief in Ferguson, Mo?
(what happened to the police chief they already had?)
Add some fire hoses to amplify the cold.
Everyone but ‘protesters’ needs to leave town - and yeah, that includes the police.. . Then let the place burn down...
Ummm, we just had an election and the majority of the voters said democrats were nuts...
Accomplice General
Your point is?
” use restraint”?
How about carpet bombing?
He’s obligated to say that. He does not expect nor want anyone to take the pronouncement seriously.
Yes. They really have no idea what it’s like to be truly free and to not have to think about government every day. Surely the same can be said for all the illegals that are here now.
I’m afraid our “good old days” are never to be seen again in this country.
“minimize needless confrontation”
Translation-—the cops may not shoot or defend themselves without facing civil rights charges. Only cops need die to make holder happy.
Use every restraint available- handcuffs, flex ties, leg shackles...
You might be right. But then again, Dictator Obama might not know.
I live down in Fayette County and I’d better not see any. And if I do, they’d better leave me alone.
Don't be silly. Looting stores is no more illegal than crossing borders without going through the paperwork, giving Obamacare subsidies to people who didn't buy their Obamacare through a state exchange, or walking guns across the border to Mexican drug cartels. "Illegal" is a concept that is defined by whether Obama and his cronies approve, not by something as old fashioned as written law.
Obama is like the worst of the Batman villains, except that the communist in our White House doesn't dress as creatively.
I've watched these "protestors", night after night, turn what is supposed to be a peaceful protest into nightly bashing, taunting and insult sessions against whatever cops are on the line. They provoke a police appearance by laying in the street and blocking traffic and when the police respond they claim they are being intimidated and provoked. They attack media as 'not honest' and vandalize their vehicles, but censor their own 'official' livestreams. One of the chants against the police is 'they think it's a game, they think it's a joke' when in reality the real gameplayers are the oh-so-fake "protestors" themselves. With the type of personalities that have emerged in the local crowds, it's not hard to imagine just how Ferguson changed in less than 10 years from a sleepy bedroom community to a welfare community of gangbangers where it's not news when children are shot in drivebys and it's not news when people are mob-attacked and hospitalized for 'walking while white'. The same rabblerousers that now demand more and more special treatment from a town like thousands of others who's demographics have been changed forever by fallout from the housing collapse. Holder needs to check his black privilege and recognize thuggary for what it is - lawlessness.
