Former White House spokesman Jay Carney admitted on CNN that President Obama did indeed flip-flop on executive amnesty.
Host Anderson Cooper asked Carney for his opinion, after showing a series of clips of Obama denouncing executive amnesty, So, I mean, other than his frustration, what has changed? I mean, hes a constitution scholar. What has changed that allows him to do this?
I think if he could have those words back, especially the first clip where he specifically talked about suspending deportations, Carney said, that is literally what he is doing today.
Carney went on saying, In later instances including when I was there he would speak carefully about what he could not do as president. He cant change the law. He cant provide a path to citizenship.
Jay is the absolute epitome of ‘punk’.
Are Jay’s tax returns in order??
Jay, expect a call from the IRS. If everything is in good order, you have nothing to worry about............
The liberals say he is a constitutional scholar. He taught a class about the constitution. He was not a college professor or a PhD in that subject. The liberals want to make us think he is a constitutional expert. In reality, he knows very little about the constitution.
I always said of Clintoon: He could mow down a Girl Scout Troop with a machine gun on the front steps of the whitehut and there would still be someone proclaiming he is innocent and must have had a reason and there is nothing Congress or the law can do about it.
Which is why Zero is keeping them focused in Ferguson.
What? We have academic evidence for Obama??
Obama was an “instructor” not a professor. His U of Chicago collegues said he was not scholarly, and lazy.
I think we need to understand that Carney, Cooper, Obama, and the lot have a diachronic understanding of the world. For them the only thing important about the constitution is how it got us to where we are now. Everything that happened in between is just as important. When we hear “he’s doing something he thinks is unconstitutional” it means something different to them then it does to us. Obama has said as much. There is no grand narrative (like the enlightenment) there is only discourse and who controls it. Nothing else matters, not God, not science, not reason, all of those are socially constructed by the dominant discourse.
Yes bu7t he said it was unconstitutional before he said it wasn’t...
or something...
From the bottom of my heart and with everything in me, I sincerely hope so.
This won’t stand, but it was never meant to stand. Obama is simply priming the pump. Millions more will now begin to stream across the border to fill the soon to be vacated “off-the-books” jobs. Even after this action is reversed.. the problem will have been successfully worsened.
Did I understand this executive order properly: Did the President of the United States just pardon 5 million people for entering the country illegally and grant them nearly every privilege to which a U. S. veteran, for instance, is entitled?
Also, if illegal immigrants are undocumented, how do we know that 5 million is the correct number? Maybe 10 million? 30 million? 50 million?
If we don’t know anything about these people, how do we know that they have been in this country for 5 years? This looks like an open-ended invitation to the world to come and live off the “stupid” Americans, as the President’s man calls us.
The only reason the Current Occupant ever studied the Constitution, was because he was looking for loopholes.
Finding none that were suitable and satisfactory for his purposes, he simply defied the clear meaning of the relevant clauses.
Going back to a President who had grown progressively unpopular, Harry S Truman attempted a similar unconstitutional act, by directing his Secretary of Commerce to carry out his order to seize the steel mills , on April 8, 1952. This resulted in almost immediate blowback, and the order was quickly quashed, as there had never been any authorization by Congress for such an action.
Truman had relied on the “Commerce” clause of the Constitution, but vastly exceeded his authority by making a unilateral declaration.
Current Occupant doesn’t even look for such a clause, he just goes pushing through on the presumption it is easier to gain forgiveness than to seek permission.
His “forgiveness” card is pretty well used up.
“Constitution scholar” example of tell a lie often enough people believe its true.
