House Speaker John Boehner, who warned after the recent midterm elections that executive action on immigration reform would "poison the well," has issued a statement in response to President Obama's announcement and decision to move forward with changes in immigration law without Congress, saying Obama has "cemented his legacy of lawlessness."
“The American people want both parties to focus on solving problems together; they don’t support unilateral action from a president who is more interested in partisan politics than working with the people’s elected representatives. That is not how American democracy works. Not long ago, President Obama said the unilateral action he just announced was ‘not an option’ and claimed he’d already ‘done everything that I can on my own.’ He said it would lead to a ‘surge in more illegal immigration.’ He said he was ‘not a king’ and ‘not the emperor’ and that he was ‘bound by the Constitution.’ He said an action like this would exceed his authority and be ‘difficult to justify legally.’ He may have changed his position, but that doesn’t change the Constitution," Boehner said. “By ignoring the will of the American people, President Obama has cemented his legacy of lawlessness and squandered what little credibility he had left. His ‘my way or the highway’ approach makes it harder to build the trust with the American people that is necessary to get things done on behalf of the country. Republicans are left with the serious responsibility of upholding our oath of office. We will not shrink from this duty, because our allegiance lies with the American people. We will listen to them, work with our members, and protect the Constitution."

So? We just had an election. We handed the GOP the Senate and the House. They have all the power they need. If they refuse to use it then we will have them nothing more.

You are not getting it. Boner has repeatedly not stood up to Obama and used the authority of the House and he is refusing to do so again.

According to Boner we should disband the House as it is a useless expense to taxpayers. We should just create a monarchy and get rid of Congress altogether since it does not serve its purpose to protect the people.
It seems the president has all the power when a democrat is in office and has no power when a republican is in office.

Maybe we are seeing a slow-motion version of Hitler's "enabling acts," with Congress and SCOTUS reduced to toothless puppies. Read Sharyl Atkisson's book, PLEASE, to understand how far down the Stasi road to becoming the USSA we have already gone.
I agree, it’s time for an Article V convention of the states. But it won’t happen. Our corrective levers have already been severed by Obama’s Stasi actions in the background.

We are watching a slow-motion rollout of Obama’s “enabling act” by default. I believe that so many key “leaders” in Congress and even the SCOTUS are compromised, that we may not be able to effect corrective action.

For your information Richard Nixon was not impeached. Oh they tried to, but he had the honor to resign before they were able to, unlike Billy Jeff who was impeached by the House, just not removed by the senate.

In other words, another 25 or 30 million that either will compete with Americans and legal immigrants searching for scarce jobs or are going to be added to welfare, bankrupting Medicaid and the food stamp system as well as ruining even more the quality of the public schools with the massive infuse of hundreds of thousands of children without speaking English to already overburdened schools systems.

Well Mr. B where are those folks elected to protect this country from crap like this! What have you done to stop crap like this - been on the golf course have ya. The nightmare from my childhood of no war but being taken over from inside the country has happened an no one stood up for us legal Americans, even the ones elected to so. My life struggle and achievements have all been for nothing. It is 1984.
