WASHINGTON, D.C. -- House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi argues President Barack Obama has ample authority to take executive actions as many presidents before him have done, including President Abraham Lincoln. “Does the public know the Emancipation Proclamation was an executive order?” Pelosi asked reporters Thursday. “People have to understand how presidents have made change in our country, Congress catching up, and in the case of Ronald Reagan, improving what Congress has done.” Obama is poised to announce his long-anticipated executive actions on immigration Thursday night. Reports indicate he will move to grant legal status to about five million illegal immigrants.

Is Nancy saying that the 50 states are in rebellion against the United States because the Emancipation Proclamation only applied to slaves who were in states that were in rebellion against the United States.

It was an executive order backed by a lot of discussion and legislation, which was obviously going to go nowhere unless the Dems decided to play ball...which they would not, because the Democrat Party was the party of slavery.

The Emancipation Proclamation was a war order and it only applied to the states in rebellion. Slavery was not outlawed in the United States...not until after the war I think.
Lincoln, iow, did not have the authority to end slavery.
And he knew it.
The Black unemployment rate in Chicago is 25 percent. But to Obama, that’s not a crisis.
To Obama, a crisis is not having enough illegal immigrants in the U.S. with work permits so that they can take even more jobs away from Black and poor Americans.
Obama’s Executive Order is not just an attack on the Constitution, it’s also an attack on Obama’s weakest and poorest constituents.
Let’s hope the Republicans emphasize this aspect, instead of just talking about the Constitutional ramifications of Obama’s setting up a tyranny. Of course James Madison is turning in his grave, but let’s worry about the suffering of living Americans, too.

Possibly...but she will be blowing spit bubbles and looking off in the distance for 17 of them.
Even a cursory reading of the EP will show it was propaganda. Freed not one slave in MD, just as an example. It freed those slaves in the states which had already seceded, states over which the union had no authority at the time. Northern slaves remained in their bonds.
