The White House is tired of hearing about Jonathan Grubers comments.
Everyone is getting pretty tired of relitigating Gruber's comments everyone except Republicans, White House press secretary Josh Earnest said Tuesday.
Grubers comments that the Affordable Care Act was passed because of the stupidity of the American voter is not shared by anybody at the White House, Earnest said, adding very few Americans are paying attention to the narrative.
Some Republicans are fanning the flames of those old political arguments because it's politically advantageous. It's easier for them to talk about six-to-eight-year-old videos than to talk about how the open enrollment period has gone smoothly so far, or the millions who have gotten health insurance, he said.
Grubers views don't actually reflect what actually happened in the process of passing and implementing this law, Earnest reiterated, calling Gruber just an adviser on the legislation.
It wasn't his responsibility to try to figure out how to get this bill through, Earnest said. It also, I think, is why it's pretty clear that the views that he's articulated do not reflect what happened.
In the linked article, the Press Secretary is essentially dismissing those who are bringing up how Gruber [and those working with him to design and pass Obamacare] counted on hiding what they were doing from the American people. Gruber said in the approximately 6 videos that has surfaced so far, that if the citizenry knew what was in the law and what was likely to happen to them, it would never have passed.
In this latest performance, Earnest is trying to spin this as political opponents who just dont like Obamacare for emotional and rivalry reasons, looking for petty means to hurt the President out of spite and unjustifiably undermine the American peoples faith in something wonderful that they love so much.
The fact is, the results of Obamacare have been much as predicted by those who initially warned of the government taking its first steps in nationalizing health care -
People are having trouble finding good-paying full-time jobs as employers keep hours below the Obamacare threshold. Those who had inexpensive health care plans are losing their insurance because they do not conform with the one-size-fits-all government mandates. Those who still have insurance are having their premiums go up, their deductibles increasing dramatically and their coverage shrinking.
And, as is the case when government has significant influence in anything, medical decisions become political decisions. Hence, one person is denied his cancer treatment while another gets gender reassignment surgery.
But no, these are not legitimate concerns. Josh Earnest, as spokesman for the President of the United States, is making it clear that Jon Gruber was right in saying that the American people are too stupid to know what is good for them. Therefore, it is justifiable that those who are entrusted with the authority to make and enact policy should deceive us.
It remains to be seen if this will blow over as they hope. They are also hoping, with the passage of time, that the American people will eventually become acclimated to being poorer and more dependent upon commissars who determine who is going to get treatment and who is not.
Given the Lefts domination of the media, academia and entertainment industry, it is hard to say whether the American people will wise up before its too late.
“old political arguments”? HAhahahahhahahahaha!
Freshly exposed lies. CHICKENS COMING HOME TO ROOST
He is delusional or evil or maybe a bit of both. I really don’t know how he can lie like that and I am frankly sick of it.
If Americans bought into Obamacare, they would have voted for the Democrats, stupid.
There’s importance in being earnest, Josh. Okay, its a play on the famous title of Oscar Wilde’s play.
But the irony seems to be lost on the White House spox.
With Landrieu certain to lose in Louisiana next month, 29 out of 60 Senators who voted for 0bamacare in 2009 are now gone less than 6 years (1 full Senate term-length) later.
Nobody except the Democrats and Obama Administration are “tired” of trying to figure out what is in the disaster called Obamacare.
Insurance premiums are going up, quality of coverage is going down. The best medical system in the history of the world is being destroyed.
Someone should ask him "If it was OK to lie about it then, how do we know you aren't still doing it right now?"
The recent election is clear evidence that Americans are not tired of fighting that battle. It’s parallel to the battle to end slavery (a Republican cause, just like repealing this modern version of slavery), which wasn’t finished until slavery was completely eliminated. The battle against Obamacare may last a generation, especially with the weak GOPe leadership, but it will not end in anything short of victory for decent Americans - or bankruptcy for our country if we fail.
Projection, deflection, rejection.....................
Not a single Republican senator or Congressman voted in favor of that monstrosity called Obamacare. It must be make perfectly clear that democrat Phd com man Gruber, called stupid not all the American voters, but just the democrat voters that put the Liar in Chief in the White House, in spite of his Marxist anti-American back ground, and all the Democrats legislators co-conspirators with the president and the MSM in the greatest deception against the American people in the history of the United States.
According to Obama, the MTI professor, a frequent visitor to the White House, was just a random adviser. For his invaluable advise and services to the Obama administration professor Gruber received over 5.9 million dollars... Stupidity and corruption to the nth power.
Josh Earnest- “What I Saw at the Coup”, an Autobiography.
That’s the most twisted logic ever.....The guy is delusional!
“relitigating”?
Huh?
Hey Josh - Everyone is getting pretty tired of hearing Obama’s lies
Dude, that was like two years ago.
“Old political arguments”????
We’re entering what? Year 7 of “Bush’s Fault”???
This Earnest guy is wasted as a PressSec. He really needs to be doing stand-up.
