I hate to ask this, but is illegal immigration the only reason we are still a “young country”?
Is it “damned if you do, damned if you don’t”??
RE: I hate to ask this, but is illegal immigration the only reason we are still a young country?
I’d say, IMMIGRATION -— BOTH LEGAL AND ILLEGAL.
A lot of african countries are “young countries” but I don’t think it’s immigration related. ;-)
These are the "replacement Americans" who are going to keep that median age of ours from crossing the disastrous threshold of 40.
Since 1973, we enlightened and socially advance Americans have slaughtered 57 million babies.
Whining about immigration in this case really is ignoring the fluorescent orange elephant in the middle of the room.
What counts is not the median age of the population.
What counts is "taxpayers" versus "tax consumers". Bringing in young people who will not earn enough to be net taxpayers actually makes the problem worse.
We need for the middle-class to be having more kids per couple, and for the underclass to stop having kids they cannot feed without government subsidy.
