Harry Reid personally voted against Landrieu and screwed his own party.
Checking the Roll Call this morning, Harry Reid's vote is Nay.
Why did he allow the vote (since he rules the Senate with an iron fist) and then vote against her and ruin her chances in Louisiana?
Nothing short of the Bills passage would have saved her down there. She's too little to late now and the union jobs are being pooched.
And Obama stands above it all to pooch the Union jobs with a veto promise.
This might have been the last chance for the Democrat Party (notice I didn't say Democratic Party) to appear reasonable. Now they look like Russian Commissars thumbing their noses at the States.
Fortunately for us, there was a wave, and they will be washed up on the beach to dry out soon enough.
Landrieu was going to lose her Senate seat regardless of this vote.
Obama made it clear he would veto the bill, so the vote was meaningless.
Louisianans know the vote will come up again next year, yet a newly reelected Landrieu might, as usual, side again with the Rats & vote against it, as well as vote against a host of other important issues such as the repeal of Obamacare.
All those people who voted for Cassidy & Maness wont change their conservative vote over one Senate bill.
Buh-bye Mary!
it's over...I no longer love Harry...he has betrayed me
Mary L. dealt with the Devil, and the Devil always betrays you are the most crucial moment.
“No, look at it this way. With a new senate, there will be a new vote. Bam bam will veto it anyway, but this way, the voters of Louisiana are being shown, that, on this issue anyway, Landrieu and Cassidy would vote the same way. If Keystone is your thing, there is no need to vote against Landrieu. To Reid, passing it was never the issue. Getting Landrieu on the record as voting for it was.”
Reid could have ensured it passed. But, by ensuring it did not, he gave Landrieu a bone by allowing the vote. But, by ensuring it did not pass, he protected Obama from having to veto the bill. IOW, protecting Obama was more important than passing the bill and protecting Landrieu. IMHO, the greatest thing about this months election is the removal of Reid as majority leader.
We’re to assume this is the Keystone pipeline vote?
Was this not a vote for cloture on the bill? I believe Harry has to vote no so that it can be brought up again..??..
They should have a boxing match. Bill it as Miss Piggy vs Oscar the Grouch.
I’m confused. It appears the Yays would have it,,but the bill was to pass the Keystone measure? So if the Yays won,,it should have passed. It didn’t.
Confoooz-ed
Exactly right, but maybe not for obvious reasons. The only fight the Dems WANT to have before Reid is demoted in January is the immigration fight. This is a distraction to them. Further, they know that (a) Landrieu is going to lose to Cassidy regardless of the vote and (b) even if Landrieu stages a remarkable comeback and wins, the GOP will still control the Senate. The true test of sentiments will be which of the Dem Senators that voted FOR the XL pipeline this time, will vote against it when the GOP brings it up in the new Congress. Reid brought it up because it was NEVER going to get to 60 votes, but would be just about guaranteed to get 59, so enough of the 2-faced Dem Senators could go home and tell their sheeple that they supported it.
“he is obligated to vote yes”
I think you mean vote no. I’ve heard this before and I head it this time that Reid voted “no” as a procedural matter.
Is that because he’s the majority leader, or is it for another reason?
I can’t imagine they didn’t know where they stood going in to the vote and I imagine they also knew Obama would veto it.
But it doesn’t even make good kabuki.
Come on....folks.....Obama/Reid setup the defeat of this bill and the defeat of Mary Landrieu long ago. It failed by one vote....and you can bet your bottom dollar...”the one vote defeat” game plan was set in motion by Obama/Reid long ago, also!!!
Landrieu is now major, burnt toast....and will get slaughtered, politcally, on Saturday, December 6, 2014 in the Louisiana special USA senate election. if there are, one or two voters in Louisiana that are still voting for her ....they are either high on reefer or stoned drunk on Kool-Aid!!! Ms. Landrieu, should withdraw fro the Senate race with dignity, if she has any left. Obama screwed her, Reid screwed her, the Democrat Party screwed her. It’s known as being thrown under the bus. Landrieu....ya screwed up the day ya voted for Obamacare.
Hint: Louisiana voters, turn out in massive numbers and vote against Mary Landrieu, handing her a massive defeat...that she, Obama, Reid and the Democrat Party will never, ever forget. And....Senator Joe Manchin.....you best join the Pubbies....SASPO....you ain’t got no future whatsoever amongst the Democrat Party, scum & vermin. Wake up, Manchin....as a Democrat low life, your political career is disappearing before your eyes!!!
“what does pooch mean”
As in “screwed the pooch”, maybe?
Chicago rule you don’t pay you don’t play.
Reid was paid by Warren Buffet to vote no and to get his rat whores to vote no.
This is just another example of the two critical ways we need to look at anything liberals are involved in:
1. Cui Bono, or who benefits, when bs surrounds and covers up or shrouds their overt or covert actions with any activity with libs in control of where money and power can be gained.
2. Follow the money after #1.
The answer to who benefits when the Keystone pipeline is killed/stalled is simple.
Warren Buffets owns/controls most of the railroad old tank cars and the railroad which bring the oil from Canada to US refineries.
How many of the Rat $inators get a lot of money now and in IOUs from Buffet to keep Keystone dead?

What do train whistles and Warren Buffett have in common?
If you answered old-fashioned charm, youre wrong.
The Sightline Institute, a Seattle-based think tank, calls the avuncular billionaire the man behind the exploding trains.
Buffetts company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns Union Tank Car Company, North Americas largest leaser of tank cars. Berkshire also owns BNSF Railway Company, which moves many of those cars.
Again the rat’s MSM has hidden this important fact from us.
Well, #1, the Demagogic Party still plans to steal the election.
#2, bringing this up for a vote, FINALLY, gets no bad publicity for having been bottled up for so long — Reid and his co-conspirators are the guardians of gridlock — because of the Partisan Media Shills.
#3, Zero doesn’t have to veto it ahead of the Louisiana runoff.
#4, even though Landrieu is likely going to lose the seat, the rest of the global warming hoax agenda drones won’t have to face constituents over having backed down. Because, y’know, even if they were just kicked out of the Senate, political careers aren’t over until the earth gets shoveled over their faces (or in California, their ashes get scattered into the Pacific Ocean, maximizing the carbon footprint of their deaths, but with no political consequences or even acknowledgement by Partisan Media Shills).
After giving it some thought, I am leaning that Ms. Piggy was set up for an embarrassment. Reid/Obolo had this all planned for her campaign snubbing.
