MADISON, Wis. (AP) Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said Tuesday he is seriously considering whether to get into the race for president in 2016, but he hasn't decided yet whether he feels the call to run.
"My personal process is I have to feel like it's a calling, particularly for the time and the effort and the impact it has on family and friends," Walker told AP in a telephone interview from Boca Raton, Florida, where he is attending the Republican Governors Association meeting this week. "It's not something you should yearn for..."
Walker, who won re-election to a second term in November after becoming the nation's first governor to defeat a recall in 2012, said it was "pretty obvious" that running for president is something he should consider.
Walker has taken several steps to keep his name in the mix as a potential GOP contender. Walker published a book in 2013 about his effort taking on public unions that spurred his recall election, he's traveled to Iowa and New Hampshire, and has courted large conservative donors, including casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.
Elected governor three times in four years, Walker commands unusually strong loyalty among conservatives in Wisconsin. Exit polls after his re-election two weeks ago showed he won the votes of 96 percent of Republicans. That kind of support from the party's far-right activists, extended nationally, could fuel Walker's viability in a wide-open fight for the GOP presidential nomination.

RRRRRRing! Gov. Walker, I think you have a phone call to answer.
Get back to us Gov. Walker when you’ve fixed your Open-Border policy positions.
I take this to mean he is praying about whether or not to run. No person is going to agree with all of us 100% on everything, but he has a darned good track record.
The logical choice to be the GOP nominee.
In after the Scott Walker is a RINO crowd...
And get back to us when you got the (guts) to stand up for normal marriage despite what some idiot court says.
LOL. How's Cruz doing in expanding tech visas for foreigners?
Open borders Walker doesn’t seem like a first choice to me.
I say we give him his time,,,don’t clue the Dems in just yet. The man has fought a lot of battles the last three years. We need a strategy to steer the Dems so they spend oppo research money in the wrong direction!
Jeb would be a good ‘gopher’
He sucks on Shamnesty. No thanks. He’ll be waiting a long time.
Anyone who has stood up to the relentless legal and political attacks as he has must have a backbone of steel.
How about Mike Pence?
Not on everything but I’d say immigration is a pretty big one. He is weak on that. He has stood up against the unions but so did Christy and there were some who got all excited about him running for prez. Wait and see what Walker has to say about immigration reform.
Wisconsin needs him here and from what I’ve heard from him so far re: immigration issues I would not support him for president as it is such a vital issue. He has other weaknesses that I think would prevent him from winning but immigration policy is my main concern.
I also believe that if Walker would leave WI the governor’s seat will go to a dem in next time around. The way things are going I believe we need strong conservative governors in our states. Walker can’t do much harm with weak immigration policies as a governor but he could really do so as prez. JMO.
LoL!
IB4TAFTR ping.
We have alot of choices, the dems have hillary.
Not necessarily. The 1965 Immigration Act is just as bad as illegal immigration. We're importing foreigners from 3rd world Latin and Muslim countries who aren't assimilating.

Scott Walker clarifies his stance in illegal immigration debate
Walker is a Governor. Right now, he has no impact on the amnesty debate. Until he declares and makes an official statement, you have nothing.
Cruz is a Senator. He is there in Washington now and supports illegal immigration:
Sen. Ted Cruz also supports legal status in the immigration bill
