A surgeon who contracted the Ebola virus while working in Sierra Leone died Monday at a Nebraska hospital where he was transported for treatment, the facility said in a statement.
A statement released Monday by Nebraska Medical Center said Dr. Martin Salia "has passed away as a result of the advanced symptoms of the disease." Hospital spokesman Taylor Wilson said Salia died shortly after 4 a.m. Monday.
Salia, 44, was being treated in the medical center's biocontainment unit. He arrived Saturday by plane from West Africa, and was transported by ambulance for treatment at the hospital, where two other Ebola patients have been successfully treated. Officials said Salia might be more ill than the first Ebola patients treated successfully in the United States. On Sunday officials had described his condition as "an hour-by-hour situation."
"Dr. Salia was extremely critical when he arrived here, and unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we weren't able to save him," said Dr. Phil Smith, medical director of the biocontainment unit.

Another black ebola victim dies in a US hospital. Obvious racism! How long before we see Jesse Jackson coach the family in shaking down the hospital?
He was a legal alien, a surgeon, and a Christian, who felt it to be his Christian duty to go to his homeland and help those in need.
His death is not only a loss to his family, but also the two nations he called home.
-
- close the borders to those countries -
- those that live in sub-human cultures have no interest in behaving as humans
- there are long lists of killer diseases that originate in those primitive areas
So, will his family sue the hospitaL?
.
- “SO, WILL HIS FAMILY SUE THE HOSPITAL” - FReeper Veto!
- well - that is the “cultural” thing “they” do - sort of “Pig-Fart 3”
.
If I am not mistaken that is the actual law on this issue.
I’m betting big bucks that the family is giving them his body for research as someone else suggested....and his wife is being paid big bucks for the body.
