Former President George W. Bush has a simple explanation for why he almost never criticizes his successor: He feels it undermines the office of the presidency.
In an interview that aired Thursday night on Fox News' "Hannity," Bush insisted he would not attack President Barack Obama even though he continued to have strong opinions about national politics.
"I don't think it's good for the country to have a former president undermine a current president; I think it's bad for the presidency for that matter," Bush said, according to video posted by Mediaite.

Nobody loves a moderate.
Like Rush said, the shortest book in the world is, “Great Moderates in History.”
W. knows that JEB! will be the next president and will continue the long march to a New World Order espoused by the ghastly Poppy Bush and lusted for by the traitor Prescott Bush. This has always been the wet dream of the elites - total world domination. W. was part of it as was Clinton, his "brother from another mother".
They are a satanic bunch. But, fear not. Revelation 19 says:
"Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse. And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.
His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.
He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.
Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written:
I completely understand both of points and they are valid.
I think from Ws prospective, because we all know that the media shills for obola...the story wouldn’t be about W making cogent valid points against the marxist, the story would ONLY be about how petty and small W was being by attacking a two term president elected, blah, blah, blah we know the media’s meme, IMO.
W can’t win defending himself, it’s a lose lose situation, again, IMO.
I despise these people.
I think the Bush family feels like they belong to the "The Presidency" like it's some kind of fancy yacht club. And criticizing another club member in front of the rubes just "isn't done".
Meanwhile, 25% of Americans are barely keeping it together and 50% are getting the living $#!% kicked out them.
Oh, well. G&Ts anyone?
Then just STFU already. islamist hand-holder.
So Schrub, let me get this straight:
You care more about the office of the presidency than the country itself?
Schrub, you are a jackass.
Excellent! +100
“George Puddin Head Bush
The nation is going down in flames, and the biggest concern on this oafs mind is, that the Oval Office will still be pristine when everything else has burned down around it.
This guy is a massive fool.
He and the GOPe bring snowballs to a cannon fight.”
THANK YOU.
He and Pappy and and the rest of the Bushies imagine themselves “honorable” and “beloved,” yet they are a HUGE part of why we are why we are where we are today.
Sickening.
I’ll never forgive George W. Bush for that “see you at the signing” amnesty bullcrap.
Thank you.
Just wait until President Cruz takes office. Bambi won’t miss a single opportunity to criticize him.
Considering the mess created by it under Obama and his immediate predecessors , it DESERVES some undermining.
It has become an imperial presidency.
Really people, the media and people would all suddenly see the light if all GWB would do is come out against Obama?!?! Your kidding right!
1) His message wouldn’t get heard as the liberal media would play this as GWB trying to cover for all his past mistakes by criticizing Bush
2) the 45% pointy head liberals wouldn’t listen anyhow.
This country has to have people in power now to take action. We also have to deal with large and growing population that only cares about what government can give them. They aren’t going to care about Amnesty/immigration/terror or anything else, its all me me me personal gratification and GWB or even Reagan if we was alive today could change that.
I don’t know how a moral person can think the office of the presidency is more important than the nation itself.
I’ve railed on people who in some ways appear to be fairly Conservative over this issue also. Can you back a very destructive politician simply because you owe them one? Doesn’t our duty to the nation come first?
The Bush family is not nearly as grounded in common sense and love of country as I think they should be.
We’re headed into a North American Union situation, and the best the Bushes could do to ward that off, was open our boards wide.
In some ways, I actually despise them.
He's full of it.
Which is worse for the country?
WFailing to criticize unconstitutional federal acts that harm America is misguided IMO. Criticizing the acts of those holding the office of President, Congress, or the Supreme Court does not harm the office itself, but it helps the American People to take a more objective view of the acts of those that hold those positions.
After all, these people are working for the American People who should make every effort to verify and scrutinize and verify what those in these powerful offices are doing.
Bushs emphasis is wrong by elevating the rule of man IMO. The thing that should be held sacred are not the acts of those in office, but the Constitution, Americas rule of law and only legal bulwark of freedom from tyranny.”

I completely agree with this.
How I wish all former presidents who are still alive would come together to oppose this illegal sweeping amnesty that threatens the fabric of the country. There comes a time when people, like them, who are in a position to make a real difference should come together for the good of the country and make a united statement.
I'm not going to wade back into those kinds of issues.Draw your own conclusions.I'm out of politics. The only way I can really make news is either criticize the president, which I don't want to do, criticize my own party or wade in on a controversial issue.
And ah, I'm off the stage. Unless I'm promoting something I strongly believe in...
GW Bush
“The former president left, “Bush lied and people died” unanswered and we are answering in his place for his silence even to this day.”
EXACTLY. And he did so knowing FULL WELL (along with Rove) that they HAD discovered WMDs.
Shameful.
He owes the American people an answer for this dereliction, but will remain silent. While he thinks it is “cute” to get all chummy with the Clintons.
Contemptible.
